Topic: Gigliotti Clip

Hi,

as promised, here is the small clip of the Gigliotti.
Played over the Ceriatone 2550. I run a backing track on CD over the little PA
and just noodle around to it. I really enjoy that guitar and also that amp.
Be generous with me, with better skills it would sound even more amazing. lol

"Still Get the Blues" is the track, right? That's a classic. Very tasty tones and playing. Nice control of feedback.

Re: Gigliotti Clip

Hi,

thanks. smile Yes the amp reacts pretty cool.
Actually it's not "Still got the blues" but very much alike.
There is a page full of these backing tracks.

Thanks for doing this, though the video says it's private. I sent a friend invite on youtube, I'm not sure if you're supposed to enable me or something but I'm guessing you have to so smile

Re: Gigliotti Clip

Ahh, my mistake! I just didn't want to publish it worldwide
as it may appear a bit senseless and boring for somebody else watching it.
I wasn't aware you can't watch it at all.. hmm
Its published now! Have a look. I will remove it in a couple days.

Re: Gigliotti Clip

Cool, thanks man. I know Joe was running 2x silver jubilees at new day yesterday live. Do you think I could get something similar to this; with a boost pedal?

Re: Gigliotti Clip

COOL
I love the sound of that guitar and the way you can control
the feed back I take it the tube screamer had something to do with this?
although , when you switch off tubescreamer near the end
the tone is purer and I like this better,

I listened to the track and I'm sure you can archieve that sound
with a boost pedal and maybe a bit more gain. Joe seemed to have some chorus in the sound as well.
Of course his phenomenal skills do much of the sound too.

SOFTMC, thanks. Yes the tubescreamer boosts the whole thing up.
I stand very close to the amp so the feedbacks come up very pleasant.
I also like the natural sound without boost. But the pickups in the Gigliotti
doesn't have that much output (Fralin Blues) so they need to be kicked sometimes. cool

Can you perhaps tell us where?

Thanks for sharing these, Alex.   I had been jonesing for a Ceriatone before but ended up buying a F*nder Hot Rod Deville 2-12 as it was local and priced right.  Maybe I'll save up and get one down the road, but SO many choices.

Re: Gigliotti Clip

Hi,

no problem. They are uploaded on a german guitar forum.
Go to http://www.aussensaiter.de/aussenjam/
Then down to the "online-sessions".
When you open an "Aussenjam" then the first song on top is the backing track.
The other tracks are with lead guitar by other forum users.

PS: Aussenjam 16 is the particular song from the vid.

With a Jubilee or clone setup for that SRV meets Hendrix type tone + a Strat and a boost pedal, you could probably get very close.  It sounds like he was favoring the middle pickup a lot for that particular tune.  For the leslie sounds of coarse the Korg G4 would get you the closest but I am really impressed with the Boss RT20.  Great pedal, one of the best from Boss.

'67 and '74 Fender Twin Reverbs, '74 Marshall 1987 lead mkII, Metro Superlead 100. Pedals from TC Electronic, Ibanez, Dunlop, BK Butler, Electro-Harmonix, Fulltone, Maestro/Gibson, Loopmaster switching, VoodooLab, Boss. Gibson and Fender guitars, Dimarzio pickups.

Re: Gigliotti Clip

Oh I almost forgot, thanks Alex for sharing all of you videos with us!  That Gigliotti sounds great man, and congrats on the Ceriatone 2550.  I am definately going to have to get one down the road.  They even look cooler now that they are in a Plexi-style head enclosure.  Mine will be white I think, with gold piping...mmmhmm big_smile

Your one lucky dude to have some really cool gear. Even though it's "just a youtube video", I really dig the tone you get from the GT through the Ceriatone. Very cool/
