Well, I'm amazed that he ever got convicted at all, and astonished to see that he's actually in jail now. His lawyer seems to think he's got good grounds for appeal. What do y'all think? Will Phil ever do serious time?
Incidentally, the deceased was a 'hostess' at the House of Blues at the time.
Well here i go.
Despite inventing the "wall of sound" in the 60s,working with the Ronettes,Righteous brothers.Ike & Tina.Ramones.Leonard cohen.The Beatles as a group,Lennon & Harrison individualy etc etc.You could call him musical genius.
His actual lifestyle is/was very crazy,and he has a history of playing around with guns.
I reckon hes a nut & he dunnit!

Whether you are a fan or not I think his contribution to music is up there with the best.
But, a possible appeal pending, he is a convicted murderer and he will more than likely
spend the rest of his days in prison.
So the question I would ask is, does the media, by that I mean radio, do they still play
his music?
After Gary Glitter's conviction, you never hear his stuff aired on the radio
nowadays, some may say that's not a bad thing.
Obviously as a producer it would be a bit difficult to ignore his work, and would that be
fair on the artists who were involved?

Like Amsterhammer, I am also surprised in a way. There are shades of OJ about this case. Its gone on so long. The defence has discredited the witnesses to such an extent the truth seems to have disappeared.
I feel its the right decision. Putting his talent ( albeit somewhat in yesteryear) to one side, from what I've read he was pretty wierd in his behaviour, with some pretty nasty and dangerous habits.
His defence make the alternatives sound plausible but the whole legal process is disgusting. Somebody was killed here and yet the process reduces the loss of a persons life to a sidebar.
I guess it will go on and on. Appeal after appeal. He is lucky to be in the USA. I just read today the Taleban shot 2 young people because they wanted to be together. No appeals there. But thats not justice either.
Who in wHollyweird gets convicted? It is a standard Jay Leno joke.... often true, but not this time.

My reasons have already been covered by Mike and Rocket - the (apparent) similarity to the OJ case, at least in the sense that someone who looked for all the world to be guilty of an horrific crime managed to 'get off' because they were able to devote unlimited funds to a defense that managed to drag things out for years - and, like Rocket said, the general feeling that certain people are able to 'get away' with things that 'ordinary' people could never get away with.
Insofar as I was able to have an opinion, I thought OJ was guilty as hell, and I thought that Phil was guilty as hell. I seriously wonder how long it will be till Phil is released under some kind of conditions while waiting for his appeal. 
Nut case...whack job...whatever...let'm out and you'll see justice L.A.Style (not Hollyweird).
