Re: How about a new Gibson "Eye"......

I think the "Eye" is kind of cool in a pseudo retro kind of way.  It probably won't take off in popularity but that's good for the collectors I guess.  It's refreshing to see Gibson thinking outside the box a little bit instead of relying on their "golden era" designs.

Hey Tom,

I really like that one a lot! The only thing I don't like is the price: $4,832, OUCH!! Gee, for that price I could get a JB signature Les Paul, that is if I could aford one.

And speaking of people with a JB Les Paul, Michael you're welcome. Yes, as soon as I saw that Gibson Eye Joe popped into my head, especially with that snazzy red color. I'll bet that one could kick some butt up on the stage, hey? big_smile

Looks like an SG, BC Rich Warlock, and a Strat had a 3 way and the Warlock popped out a demon baby.

OR

An SG and a Strat had a baby and that baby had a baby that was immaculately conceived by way of a BC Rich Warlock diety.

Re: How about a new Gibson "Eye"......

It sort of does what SG copies have been doing for years to avoid the pantent. Like the ESP Viper, one side is longer than the other side.  The butt end is definitely strat shaped. I think it may be cool with those new Seymour Duncan P-Rails pickups! If you're going to make it a bass-turd you might as well go the full 9 yds!

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

Re: How about a new Gibson "Eye"......

Might as well...they're certainly doing just that. Trying to play that through an old Fender would have results similar to a demon having contact with holy water. Something would blow up.

A Dual Rectum-fryer would be more appropriate. tongue

It's an ugly b*stard either way.

Re: How about a new Gibson "Eye"......

I think Gibson needs to cut out the stupid gimmick guitars and concentrate on making good guitars at a good price! What a brilliant idea! smile

I love Gibsons to death though.

You know, I have a lot more gear than I need, but not as much as I want.
