Re: Tube Screamer

I'm looking for something with a lot of bottom end. A pedal that when combined with the tube screamer would make a real rich, thick, creamy, but powerful tone.

Re: Tube Screamer

EQ pedal maybe?

I use a Boss GE-7, use it for a volume boost and mid boost for solos.
Sounds fantastic, but it seems nobody on here ever uses EQ pedals
Id suggest that for adding bottom end though.

Re: Tube Screamer

Jimi_lp makes a good case for the EQ pedal, they are far more useful than simply accentuating/taming certain frequencies.  I don't really like to run more than one overdrive at a time but I have gotten some super sustaining overdrive with bottom by accidentally having both my OCD and TS808 on at the same time.  When I was chasing the "Cliffs of Dover" sound I had some success with running my amp pretty flat/dark and using a Tube Driver and TS808 together.  The Tube Driver would add the saturation, sustain, and bottom with the TS808 tightening up everything allowing the sound to cut through without being harsh.  I love my Fulldrive II, I run the first gain stage like a tubescreamer and the second just a cascading dB boost.  The Fulldrive II doesn't cut the low end like a tubescreamer.

Re: Tube Screamer

The Timmy has a great EQ section. Probably most useful all around pedal I've come across.

Re: Tube Screamer

Here are my TS808Ri settings:

Overdrive and Level are both at 12 o'clock and the tone is usually at 12 o'clock except when it's SRV time and I put the tone at 9 o'clock.

Putting a second TS pedal after as a boost is great, it opens the tone up so much, gives it a nice natural reverb.  As a boost Overdrive is off, Level at 1 o'clock and adjust tone to suit.
