Party tracks - suggestions please

Hmm, hopefully Wooders will answer this as he is devising a playlist for the aftershow party...

I guess for general appeal you could look to play some BB King ie Thrill Has Gone, You Upset Me, When Love Comes to Town with U2, Albert Collins: Honey Hush, I Ain't Drunk, Lights Are On..  Muddy Waters: Hoochie Coochie Man, Mojo Working, I Wanna Be Loved etc, Howlin' Wolf maybe too scary!

Some good more modern stuff might be Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green: Oh Well, Stop Medding Round, Black Magic Woman, Rory Gallagher: Tatoo'd lady, Messing With The Kid, Stevie Ray Vaughan: Pride And Joy, Sky Is Crying and Robert Cray: Phone Booth, Bad Influence etc, Some Rolling Stones and ZZ Top would be good for parties and Cream and Led Zep might also go down well.

For Joe, it's hard to limit it to three songs, but my thoughts would be The Last Kiss, The Great Flood and something older like The River

For 3 Joe party songs I'd go with: "Burning Hell", "The River" and "Story Of A Quarrryman". Although, "The Ballad Of John Henry", also kicks butt too.

Any song off of Albert Cummings CD, "Feel So Good-Live" would be great! In particular, Albert's rendition of B.B. King's "Rock Me Baby", a song written for him, "Barrel House Blues" and his own "Tell It Like It Is". Like I said though, anything off that album would work.

Also, put on some spirited Rory Gallagher too. Listening to Rory's music has always put a smile on my face and makes me want to jump out of my seat!

You can never go wrong with AC/DC of course. At some point of the evening everyone will just rock out to it. A quick 3 song back2back should have them moving. I would always go for the Bon era and my current faves would have to be Sin City, If you want blood and Whole Lotta Rosie.

Should be headbanging and air guitar everywhere.

Lizzy will do it most times as well and theres plenty to choose from. The other day I heard Deep Purples "Space Truckin'" for the first time in years and that had me tapping away like mad.

Your theme had me thinking back. I didn't have an 18th, it was still 21st in those days. I can recall getting the DJ at the Railway Tavern, Forest Gate to play "Immigrant Song", "We won't Get Fooled Again" and "Green Grass and High Tides" by the Outlaws in short order. Shortly after that though my mind went blank as I recall.

One number that gets everybody off their feet at parties (in my experience) is 'Everybody needs somebody' by the Blues Brothers.
