Topic: Vince Gill

It was my great pleasure to work the stage door for Vince Gill last night.  Without a doubt he has to possess one of the greatest singing voices of all time.  And he is a phenomenal guitarist.  I think he must have a collection like someone else we know as it was guitar after guitar after guitar.  Very charming personality and had the crowd eating out of his hand.  A wonderful concert experience, even if I was working.  A+ for my part time job!  If you get the chance to see him, do it.     Patty

Patty, I have to say that I get the feeling that a lot of people over here in the UK think that Vince Gill is 'just that guy that intoduces the CMA'....when/if we get to see it. He is a fantastic player/singer with a great band. I envy you wink

Re: Vince Gill

If I could have picked one more song for him to sing last night, for old times sake, it would have been this....

Re: Vince Gill

For those that don't know Vince is an Oklahoma Boy. I haven not met him but know many people that played in his first band Mountain Smoke. He always makes appearance for a variety of charities and causes. A class guy. I'm not a fan of Country music but I am a fan of Vince.

You and Me both.  He's a damn fine guitar player, too.

Jeff and Jim,

You're both absolutely right about Vince Gill - one of the best singers out there, a damn fine guitarist and an all around good guy.  I've seen him a number of times and he never leaves his audience disappointed.  His cover of the Eagles' "I Can't Tell You Why", on Common Thread, is one of those rare instances of improving on the original in my humble opinion.
