Topic: better than any doctor

After following Joe since 2001 but never being in the right place at the right time to catch one of his shows I finally had the honor finally seeing him with my 28 yr old son, also a guitarist, at the HOB's here in Las Vegas on St. Patrick's Day.

Needless to say neither one of us were dissatisfied. Joe inspired me to get out of the house, something that is very difficult for me as i have battled depression for years and tend to stay home most of the time...as for my son, he now aspires to become an even better guitarist and is in the process of actively putting a band together...

Thanks Joe for all that you do...and thanks for getting me out and showing me how much there is out there....I have been to 2 other events since and am seriously considering getting back into music, someithing i gave up after the loss of my singing voice after surgery due to a car accident several years back....I am currently in the process of finding a way to resume the piano and seeing if i can't get back into music on some level that way.

At any rate, Joe was very healing and inspiring and did more for me that night than any doctor or medication in the world....never stop...

Hello bonamistriss,

As one who has traveled that same lonely road of depression as you have, let me welcome you to our little family here on Joe's forum. You will meet many fine people here that love to share one thing or another. However, the one bond that we all share is our love for Joe's music and for the type of person he is. Isn't it something how music and especially Joe's, can help us with other things in our lives?

I can SO empathize with these sentiments, because hearing Joe live and for the first time ever was the catalyst that eventually got me out of the hole I was in.

You´d be surpirsed by how many people on this forum really "got back into music" thanks to Joe ... and we all know about the healing powers of that music. smile

Great to have you as part of the forum, Welcome!  I too have been inspired to look back into learning the guitar.  I purchased an acoustic and have been practicing whenever time permits.  I hadn't done this for nearly 40 years.  So as you can see Joe has a very positive influence on people.  Besides he is a very nice guy in general and very approachable. big_smile

A belated, but most sincere welcome to you Bonamistriss. 

I was at the HOB Vegas show with you...... front and center (literally!!!  LOL). 

I'm SO glad that you got to a show finally, and SO happy that Joe's music has helped to heal you.  It DOES happen....... I followed that Vegas show up with two more and have a nice little cushion to fall back on now.  It can be better than any doctor, or pill, you're right...... we just need to figure out how to get him back here SOONER for another big dose.  smile

Meanwhile, there are an awful lot of very tender, loving souls who hang out here.  I hope that you'll let some of them befriend you.  The warmest of welcomes to you.
