Topic: Gear wishlists!

Okay everyone since everyone is feeling the pinch I think it would be healthy for all of us gearnuts to list all of the goodies we would like to get in the near future.  I cannot really buy anything at the moment because I'm saving for a home smile but this is a list I'm hoping to chip away at after I get settled in my house:
                 Amps:
1) Marshall Superlead 1959 (or clone)
2) Ceriatone 2555 with white plexi headcab
3) Hughes & Kettner Duotone 100w
4) Marshall Vintage Modern 2466
5) Dr. Z Mazerati GT

                Guitars:
1) Eric Johnson Rosewood
2) Fender AV '62 RI Stratocaster
3) Custom homemade Tele
4) Gibson ES-335 or ES-345
5) Gibson BB King Lucille
6) Gibson Les Paul Custom
7) Republic Resolian Dobro
8) Alvarez Yairi (not sure the model yet)

               Pedals:
1) TC Electronics Chorus
2) Fuchs Verbrator
3) Hermida Zendrive

So...all I need is a winning lottery ticket and I'm in business.  Again this is just my wishlist, I'd be lucky to own 1/3 of that stuff.  Just the gear that rolls around in my brain at the moment tongue

'67 and '74 Fender Twin Reverbs, '74 Marshall 1987 lead mkII, Metro Superlead 100. Pedals from TC Electronic, Ibanez, Dunlop, BK Butler, Electro-Harmonix, Fulltone, Maestro/Gibson, Loopmaster switching, VoodooLab, Boss. Gibson and Fender guitars, Dimarzio pickups.

Re: Gear wishlists!

I have some experience with the Peavey Classic series and the HRD amps as well.  Some strong points of the Peavey are that they are very affordable, reliable, and sound pretty good.  I played a Vox handwired anniversary AC15 and I thought the Classic 30 sounded much better.  The Classic 30 is pretty dark and sounds a lot better with humbuckers IMO.  I like the fat boost on the Classic 30 as well.  Some weak points are that it is a little boxy sounding, the reverb is kinda weak, and the overdrive is voiced so dark that some single coil lovers may have trouble getting that glassy Fender sound.  The HRD amps are one of the most  popular amps out today for a reason.  The clean tones on them are rediculously good for an amp in that price range with one of the most over the top reverbs as well.  They are ungodly loud for the wattage ratings which can be good or bad depending on what you like.  They are both really fantastic platforms for building your tone.  The downside of the HRD amps are that I personally feel the overdrive channels fall flat.  The overdrive sound is okay at lower settings but the more you turn the dial clockwise it adds some harsh, buzzy high end to the sound.  With humbuckers the distortion is much more usable.  I have gotten great results by just dialing the gain down to like 2-3 and using a tubescreamer type pedal.  I unfortunately do not have much experience with the Laney you mentioned but I use to own an AOR Laney head that ROCKED.  It was like a Marshall 2204 on steriods...I miss that ugly amp sad

Re: Gear wishlists!

thanks man!

Im playing a Fender strat and i always use my tubescreamer so i think the fender would do with a great clean channel big_smile

I have tried the peavey and i like it. But i havnt compared it to the laney and the Fender...

Gonna spend a day just playing amps at music stores big_smile

Why do you want to get a dumble clone and a dumble-od pedal?! If you want a nice od/dist pedal you should look @ rodenberg-amplification.com! They are expensive, but they sound sooooo great!!!

Re: Gear wishlists!

I'm very happy with the gear I currently have but maybe in the future I'd like to add:

Gigliotti GT or a early 60's Tele
late 50's or early 60's Strat
and maybe a Category 5 JB-100

Re: Gear wishlists!

I figure I'll keep this realistic.

Marshall VM 2266 (prefer 50watt)
Gibson R7 and/or R8
Fender 57 strat.
MXR phase 90 (my phaser is slowly breaking)

Re: Gear wishlists!

Marshall jubilee
'78 or '79 Les Paul Custom Silverburst
Jackson LTD RR (1-200 made by Mike Shannon)

Maybe some of the sweet Cat 5 cabs

And a roadie to carry it all!  I'm getting old and this stuff ain't getting any lighter

Where the hell does one get a black-backed gold top anyway?

Re: Gear wishlists!

I'd love to get
Guitars-
Rossington Les Paul.
Gibson 335
James Trussart Tele

Amps-
JMI AC30
Carr Rambler

Ceriatone HRM Blues OTS ? I think thats right

Pedals-
Way Huge Red Llama
Fulltone 69
Fulltone Clyde Wah
Voodoo lab pedal swicher and Commander

Re: Gear wishlists!

Mmm let's dream a bit here ...

Guitars

Gibson les paul 59' in lemon drop/butterscotch or heritage cherry sunburst and kidney grovers. (saving up with change i have in my pockets so who knows in 10 years i can afford one if they don't go up)

Fender 62 strat olympic white (or hot rod version)

Amps

Marshall 1974x ( i'm looking around for one)

Marble clubreverb with 6L6

Silver jubilee or Category 5 100 watt for fun (wich never gonna happen, ain't rich)

FX

Peterson strobostomp 2 (just orderd one  smile )

Ibanez TS808

Boss DD3

Dunlop Fuzzface

Freeqi booster

Boss RV-5

Good Power supply like T Rex or voodoo labs?

Good Mogami cables.

Re: Gear wishlists!

Even though I have no way to pay for them... here's what I would get if I could.

Guitars:
'59 LP in heritage cherry burst
ES-335 in Cherry (yes just like Clapton)
Gigliotti GT
I've got an SRV strat now so I'd like a good strat that I can call my own. I like the deluxe player's srtats... so I guess I'd get one of those.

Amps:
Silver Jubilee (for obvious reasons)
Category 5 JB-100
A Two Rock Dumble clone.
Fender Twin
Patrick Sweany recommended some solid state Peavy amps to me. I read the other post about Peavy amps so I don't know. Of course Pat plays a different style than most of us here though... and I'm exploring that a little. So maybe I'd get one of those... they are affordable and they hold up well.

Pedals:
Line 6 Dl-4
Anything Keeley (I'm really impressed with the BD-2) Maybe some kind of delay.
A good Wah... I don't like my Crybaby Classic as f right now.

Others:
I would like some new pickups for my strat. The Texas Speials are good but something new would be nice. I don't know what yet.
Free strings for life would be nice.

I like this thread.

Re: Gear wishlists!

I guess mine is kind of a short list....not in any particular order

Gibson Les Paul 50th Anniversary Lemondrop 1959 (supposedly only 25 of them)
Gibson ES-339 Figured top
Fender Eric Clapton Crossroad Guitar and Amp set
Gibson Joe Bonamassa Inspired Les Paul
and finally a mystery guitar....Alex Lifeson has one...probably a custom job from Gibson...but a 1959 reissue Les Paul GOLDTOP...can't seem to find any by googling it....hmmmm...this would be my ultimate guitar

2009 Gibson Les Paul 1958 VOS (with black plastic)
2008 Gibson Les Paul Traditional Goldtop (with the cream plastic from the 58RI)
> Marshall Bluesbreaker 2 pedal >Boss sd-1> DD3 > Vox Ac15cc1

Oh yeah bro, free strings for life would be very very cool. cool

......and free cables too! big_smile

Re: Gear wishlists!

Nice thread.  Oh to dream...

Guitars.  I'm set.  Maybe another acoustic or a gold top Les Paul Std to round out the collection.

Amps.  A nice Marshall or clone to compliment my Fuchs.

I'm pretty surprized that a Fuchs ODS isn't on anyone's wish list.  As far as I'm concerned they're one of the best D style amps available.
