Topic: Roll On by JJ Cale

I am just loving this new album from JJ Cale.

He plays all the instruments on tracks 2 - 8 inclusive and track 12.

I just hope it is not 5 years till the next album

Re: Roll On by JJ Cale

Doesn't The Road To Escondido from 3 years ago count?

Re: Roll On by JJ Cale

Not in this context. Road To.... was a collaboration with Eric Clapton rather than a JJ Cale album.

As such Roll On is Cales first studio album in 5 years smile

Re: Roll On by JJ Cale

I thought "Road to..." sounded pretty much like a JJ album though ... smile

I agree Eva, but my point (albeit badly put, my apologies to one and all smile ) is that this is the first solo JJ studio album in nearly 5 years. The following is a quote from JJ Cales own website;

"Roll On, JJ Cale's first solo CD of new material in nearly five years follows his Grammy-winning, gold-certified 2006 album with Eric Clapton, The Road to Escondido."

Ahh, a J.J. purist, just kidding, we don't like that term purist much around here. Ain't that right Eva?

Looks like you got yourself into something here Romans8 ... lol

Of course we DON`T consider you a purist ... I understand what was your point. Can you tell us a bit more about the album?! Haven´t heard about it or listened yet ...
