Re: Would you like a Gigliotti Les Paul??

Honestly I wouldn't like it.
Imagine the Gigliotti shape of the headstock on a Les Paul like guitar,
wouldnt it look terrible? hmm
Though I'm very sure he would sell them well...

I were more more interested in the guitars whole look cool
But I'm also not interested in only buying guitars from a special label, like only Gibson Les Pauls or Fender Strats...
There are so much great minor custom guitar builders (here in Germany, too!) that can build you perfect guitars...

Maybe I'll do a little example photomontage big_smile

Re: Would you like a Gigliotti Les Paul??

Check this out guys:

http://www.nikhuber-guitars.de/2006_dolphin_intro.htm

I've got one wink

Although to be honest I did have one with the 4/2 headstock but now I've got the 3/3 headstock.......without the dolphin inlays in the neck. Also the one I have now is in (and I've told Nik that he should call it this big_smile ) Tia Maria Burst and it has a trem. Around £3000 - £3600 now I think.

Yes indeed I know about Nik Huber. The guitars are amazing and
the craftmanship is outstanding. But I find the optical appearance
somewhat over the top. I rather like the decent optic (and own a Gigliotti lol lol )
Anyway, they should sound and play well. Hopefully I can try one one day.

Yeah, some of them are a little too 'pretty' for my taste too. Mine is a simple burst with a flame top that's not too 'over the top'. I prefer the dot inlays on the neck as opposed to the dolphin inlays too.....but each to their own.

Re: Would you like a Gigliotti Les Paul??

No on the les paul gigliotti.

It would be too much. Plus Gibson bolted on those mirror fronts on some Gibsons a couple years ago, and it was bad.
I even think the strat-gigliotti is too much. I do love the tele. the f-hole is what does it.

Re: Would you like a Gigliotti Les Paul??

I think his Tele that joe plays is already pretty much a les Paul.  Single cutaway with a mahogony back and neck.  The only difference would be of course the shape would be different and the guitar would have humbuckers.  If he did do one he would have to have some crazy deal with it that would set it above just a standard lp.

Re: Would you like a Gigliotti Les Paul??

I think a LP Jr. Gigliotti would be cool because the Jr's have a flat surface.  You could add f holes as well.  I think a carved top brass guitar would look kinda funny.  Patrick would probably do his own take on neck/headstock design as not to enfringe apon Gibson.  I like the idea, just not the idea of having GAS for ANOTHER $5k guitar!
