Topic: Fuchs Plush Drive

This pedal should be called the Bonamassa Box.  It is probably the closest to that thick overdriven sound I've heard. I paid 180 for mine here in Wash DC.  I think Joe has one in his practice rig.
Makes my Les Paul roar.

Re: Fuchs Plush Drive

There's another one - the Rodenberg GAS pedals! They sound like like tubescreamers - just better tongue - with more available drive and a little dumble sound in it.

Single pedal in Germany for 180€ --> 245$
Double pedal for 270€ --> 370$

But they are worth their money!

What do you think about a Bonadrive-pedals thread?? tongue roll

Re: Fuchs Plush Drive

The only problem with a "Bonadrive" pedal thread is that Joe has been through enough overdrive pedals to cause this site to overload! lol I get great Bonamassa  tones out of all of my overdrive pedals because I think the way you have the amps set up has more to do with the overall sound than the pedal itself.  I currently use a TS808 RI, Fulltone OCD V.4, Fulltone Fulldrive II Mosfet, and BK Butler Tube Driver (3 knob version).  I set them all pretty much the same with the level almost maxed, EQ midway, and the gain dialed below 9 o'clock.  My OCD replicates the Cat 5/Jubilee sound, the TS 808 for the Two Rock/Jubilee sound, and the Tube Driver for the really smooth Carol-Ann/Jubilee tone with a little EJ for good measure.  I run 2 amps instead of 4 and vary the tone with pedals.

'67 and '74 Fender Twin Reverbs, '74 Marshall 1987 lead mkII, Metro Superlead 100. Pedals from TC Electronic, Ibanez, Dunlop, BK Butler, Electro-Harmonix, Fulltone, Maestro/Gibson, Loopmaster switching, VoodooLab, Boss. Gibson and Fender guitars, Dimarzio pickups.

Re: Fuchs Plush Drive

Clearly I dont mean to imply one will get all of Joe's sounds with one box.  I currently use 3.  A fulltone Fulldrive, Ocean Effects Texas Deuce and a Fuchs Plush Drive.    I know Joe mentioned using one of these in his cheaper practice rig. Being as most of us have an ear for tone and smaller rigs I thought i'd mention it as a possibility for those looking for a great smooth lead tone.
Though I have to say you can get very similar tones from the Texas Deuce too.

Re: Fuchs Plush Drive

Overdrive and distortion boxes, where to begin?

I have a Fuzz face reissue, TC Electronic vintage overdrive (great pedal now discontinued), Fulltone OCD V4 and a Blackstar HT-Dual. I can currently get all the overdrive and distortion sounds I need with this through a superchamp XD through 1x12 in the house and Hot rod deluxe and 1 x 12 for bigger stuff.

I've been through loads of gear through the last few years as I'm sure many of you have. I've now finally larned that I can get what I need with a good clean fender amp and a few good quality stomp boxes. I've also been altering my tone much more with the volume and tone controls of my guitar. I'm content with my setup for now. Just have my eye on PRS DGT.

Bonadrive pedals thred is a great idea I think.
