Topic: Bad Company To Tour In 2009

Paul Rodgers will reunite Bad Company for a world tour in 2009, it has been announced.

While the Queen and Paul Rodgers project takes a well earned break after a hectic 2008, Paul Rodgers will reunite with Simon Kirke and Mick Ralphs for a tour later this year.

A post on the band’s official website simply says “Bad Company to tour in 2009!”.

The band last toured in 2002, although the last time the original line-up of the group toured was in 1999. Original bassist Boz Burrell sadly passed away in 2006.

Kirke, Ralphs and Rodgers played a one-off live date in Hollywood at the end of last year. That show has been filmed for a live DVD that’s due out in the next couple of months.

No matter how far you try to push the envelope, it remains stationery

Nice, I saw them way way back. Gotta see this. Thanks.

Re: Bad Company To Tour In 2009

I'd love to see them, never had the chance to in the past!

Didn't I read about a year ago that they were doing one show just to keep the name "Bad Company"...I can't remember if it was them or not. hmm  Some kind of legal thing...coffee didn't kick in yet so I may be wrong.

Must be the "Year of Reunions" for Mick Ralphs. He's doing one with Mott the Hoople as well! Its an interesting development as I had read last year there was quite dispute going on with a Mick Ralphs/Dave Colwell version going on the road. The ownership of the name was part of it. I'm glad anyway, such a big part of Bad Co. is Pauls voice, even though Mick was also responsible for many of the songs too.

I hope in 2010 Paul continues his Queen sabbatical and reforms Free. I would like to see that, especially if they ask Joe to perform the guitar duties..

Re: Bad Company To Tour In 2009

I hope having Mick back in the line up makes for a better show than in 2002. I have the live CD from '02 and after one listen it's been sitting on the shelf collecting dust.

Apparently there is alot of these Verizon wireless ampitheaters

dreaming of a little getaway....hmmmm

In all fairness I threw that CD in the player in my truck yesterday for another listen. It's not the material or anything to do with Paul Rodgers, but the guitar playing and the production quality are marginal at best. Geez Jane I've heard better quality sound on some bootlegs tapers have made in the audience. Back on the shelf it goes. Fortunately I think that disc was a free pick from the BMG club. We want Mick, we want Mick!!!!!!

Good news for you if you are lucky enough to see them.

According to Planetrock there are no plans for any UK gigs.

Re: Bad Company To Tour In 2009

Thanks for posting the dates.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to see them this time.   If you go Jane say hi for me smile.

This is such wonderful news that they will be doing these shows.  These shows will be for Boz.
He will always be Bad Co. and be there in spirit.  I hope the guys have a blast being together again.
For those in the U.K., Mick will be with Mott the Hoople in London in October.  This is such awesome news.  I'm glad they had time for this being that they are busy.  Bad Co. always treated there fans right.  And Jane you know I think Paul is the Merchant of Cool HA HA.  Here is a clip from the concert of 2002, the tour you were talking about Jane.  You may recognize a couple of their friends and they just fit so well with this song.

Thank You Paul and Simon for including Free songs in your concerts big_smile.  You guys ROCK STEADY!

Re: Bad Company To Tour In 2009

Do any of you know if Bad Company's stage set up is usually the same for all their tours? I was hoping to go see them on 6/24, but I was wondering what side to get a ticket for... Which side is usually Mick's?

Re: Bad Company To Tour In 2009

Sorry, I wouldn't know the answer to that question, but I just wanted to say...
There's a good chance I'll be attending the 6/27 Bad Company/Doobie Brothers show at Bethel Woods in NY.  I should be up that direction the night before anyway for The Machine's Rocks Off Concert Cruise in NYC, so the timing happens to work out.  But these are still kinda just tentative plans right now... very probable though... I'm hopeful... smile

Re: Bad Company To Tour In 2009

Hello JoviGoo,

I can't say for sure, but I remember him usually being on the same side of the stage.  I'm gonna say he is on your right hand side.  Go with your right hand.  I think that is right, but can't say absolutely.  Maybe the venue might know if you ask them.

I usually go for center, so that is why I am not positive and this is an East Coast tour so I won't be able to see it.  Good Luck with getting the tickets and Have a Blast with Bad Co smile

Yes Section 101. exactly.  The only thing is I cant be absoulutely sure and I don't want to mislead you, I am just going from memory that he has been on the same side and here's a video that shows he was on the right in 1999.

If he ends up on the left at the concert see if you can trade somebody seats for the left.
70/30 he is on the right.

They put on a fantastic show and like the audience to sing so have a great time and I hope the seats work out well smile

Ok, cool. I guess I'll just take my chances and go for the right side then. hmm

Are people at Bad Company shows usually pretty nice? This would be my first time seeing them live.

But these pictures look like there are two guitarists? Since those were for a DVD, is there usually just Mick at normal concerts?  http://www.badcompany.com/photos.html

I hope they play "Shooting Star". I love that song! big_smile cool

Ok, I hate to tell you this but what is the name of the band?  Just kidding wink

Don't tell anybody but the fans of Bad Company are very nice and welcome all.
Since it is seated, relax. But if people start standing feel free to dance and sing away.  Especially to Shooting Star.  May wanna see if you can get some pictures of Mick.  I hope you do.

And yes, it is usually just Mick at the normal concerts.

I think you will be in for a special treat since that is your song big_smile

Ha ha, funny, lol roll

That's good to know smile Yeah, some of the standing concerts I've been to the people have gotten kind of crazy. Oh yeah, I'm sure I'll be standing and singing! I hope I can get some pictures too. Have you seen them before? And if you have, what were the security people like? Maybe it was just the venues I've been at, but when I went to see Bob Dylan, the security people were on high alert and I wasn't able to get many pictures...

But aww man, I just realized the day of my concert is the last day of the class I'm taking sad I hope I can get out in time
