Topic: Anyone have experience with the Bogner Alchemist?

I did something I never do with a big-ticket item, went into the evil GC and did an impulse buy of the Bogner Alchemist 1X12.  It's probably twice what I thought I was willing to spend but it sounded really sweet in the store. 

I'm seriously loving the clean channel for Strat tones....very expressive, but having a hard time finding a decent sound for a lead tone.....would appreciate anyone's input who has a clue....

A friend of mine has one too, played on it a couple times and it sounds quiet good yeah! Overdrive-channel can be a bit artificial..but i'll ask him for some settings!

Try turning the gain down to more of a crunch.  Then take a overdrive pedal you like and run that into it. 

Or if you love the clean do what I do and find a overdrive pedal that sounds great with the clean channel.

I like the Ocean EFX Texas Deuce...Barber Burn Unit, Fulltone Fulldrive, I hear the FUCHS plush drive is fantastic.

Maybe that will get you going.

Jeremy:  Thanks for the advice...the whole point of buying a new amp was to get one that I could get all the tones I wanted without any outboard (read: Noisy) pedals, but not sure that's going to work.

Have played a Barber Direct Drive which I really liked, the Ocean pedals sound like they'd be great but more than I can spend right now....will try to clean up the Carl Martin Hot Drive 'n Boost and give that a whirl...
