Topic: PLAY BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spring has sprung with a full slate of Cactus/Grapefruit league games being played today. The usual tedium of spring training will be disrupted by the '09 World Baseball Classic starting March 5th. It'll be interesting to see if the WBC gains more popularity this time around and to see if Team Japan can defend their title. Time to start hypin' your favorite team..............hope springs eternal.

Just saw the Nederlands upset the Dominican Republic. Fortunately for the Dutch team they can bring in Caribean players from Arruba and Curacao which they still rule. 40,000+ at the Skydome in Toronto currently watching the U.S. vs. Canada, BAM! Kevin Youkilis just jacked one out to tie the game @ 2. This stuff is definitely more entertaing than watching spring training games. BAM! Brian McCann 2 run shot........4 to 2 USA.

Wow, that was pretty intense at the end!! Great game, even though I only turned it on in time to catch the 9th.

Since this is baseball thread, I thought I'd share a funny story...I have a friend who's about 30 and never played any sports and wants to join a co-ed team, guess there are some fine looking girls that go to watch there friends and he's looking to find him one....I took him down to the indoor batting cages to give him some pointers on hitting some slow pitch softball....I swear I couldnt stop laughing, it just made matters worse for him...I had better luck with 6 years old....I told him he would be better off sitting in the stands and talking to the prospects...a few years back I was shooting some baskets at the house he had just bought with a really nice halfcourt the previous owner had installed, my buddy would shoot the ball with both hands as if he was doing a chest pass and kick one leg out like a young girl on the playground who couldnt reach the basket...I had tears in my eyes from laughing so damn hard...I want to thank my mom for putting me in every sport possible to keep me out of trouble, it worked out ok

I'm watching the WBC championship game and just had to pass on this observation. Bottom of the 9th, 2 outs for Korea with Lee on first and Lee on second, with Lee at the plate. Lee singles to left to tie the game leaving Lee on first and Lee on second again. How often does that happen?????????? Great game tied 3-3 going into extra innings, there's more than one type of March Madness this year.

I have to give props to Joe Morgan, he tried like hell to put Bud Selig on the spot concerning the USAs approach to winning the tournament.....Davey Johnson wasnt the right man for the job, we should have been playing to win it, not keeping players egos happy....I want a full committment by all our professional baseball organization people to win this tournament....other counrries have been bringing their best players and we should be doing the same....next time were going to have that kid from San Diego State with the 103 mph fastball yikes close the game he should be in the majors by then....while were at it, check out the hamburger in the link below, is there any room for a cold beer lol geez!!
