Topic: Anyone ever played a LEGEND 50 amp?

Just had to ask if anyone has ever played one. I know that Billy Gibbons used them to record the entire Eliminator album but I had never played one until the other day. I gigged with this one last night and it was really a nice amp. The one I played has been modded... supposedly by Cesar Diaz about 20 years ago but I have no written proof of it. But it's a great sounding amp.... 12ax7 preamp tubes in a ss amp. This one's a keeper!

Re: Anyone ever played a LEGEND 50 amp?

Yeah, those are cool amps! There's some all tube amps from Legend, also. Very similar to a Boogie MK. 1.

Was it "Oak" colored wood, with a Wicker Grill?

Red Oak cab with nice dove-tail corner construction. Model is the GH50. It's had an extra gain stage added and a treble cut/boost along with a couple extras. Trying to aquire the original mod spec sheet from the original owner/buyer. So far no luck. Don't know if email is even active. Anyway, it's very impressive! And I'm not a solid state fan... but it's supposed to be a hybrid (tube preamp and ss output). My strat really liked it !  It's not met the LP's yet.. hah! BTW: Yes, wicker (cane grill).

Re: Anyone ever played a LEGEND 50 amp?

This is an old topic, but I still have my Legend 50 that I bought back in the early 80's.. it was billed as the poor mans Mesa Boogie... I was actually thinking about selling it.. its in mint condition too... anyone have any ideas what it might be worth now?
Thanks
Ed

If it was modded by CD, someplace on the chassis will likely be signed by him.
