Re: My Strat :D

All you need now are your initials cut out on the pickguard so it can be like a SRV #1 strat;)  Did you swap necks too?  Looks like you had a rosewood fret board in the first pick and the second you had a maple neck.

Re: My Strat :D

Thats why I love strats so much. They're modular. You can change and rearrange them to your liking. You'll hear from nay sayers. Screw 'em!. If your happy, that's all that matters. big_smile

Now go play the snot out of it!!!!! cool cool cool cool

Re: My Strat :D

It's a beauty. You did a nice job with that. cool

Re: My Strat :D

Call me traditional, but I think I dug the original a little more...Still looks cool though, much more personable and special to you.  How are those new PU's and how do they compare to say a set of Texas Specials or anything else?  Congrats on a killer axe!

Looks good dude Ive seen them toneriders on ebay always wondered what they sounded like. Also wasnt the originals a set of Fender 69's?

Simon what was wrong with the original neck? and if nothing are you selling it? I have an old squire  but the necks badly warped :x I stripped the body of its original colour (took ages poly lacquer is a nightmare) was just gonna have a mess around on it lemme know if your interested smile

Gonna answer Ad3three and JohnTBs question at the same time.

I got sick of the old neck since its supposed to be a "sixties" strat and the Radious of the neck is like 7.25 wich means that its very "round" if you get what i mean.
the good thing with that neck is that it's very comfortable to play chords but when you play blues and you're trying to bend from like the 15th fret and up you're gonna hit the frets. Wich is really annoying if you play blues. wink (John, If you're still intrested, I'll think about it smile ) So about 5  months ago, i went to a guitar Mess and bought a made in japan fender neck smile

Also, does anyone know if fender makes a guitar with the combination of a 3 colour sunburst body, plack pickguard, white pickups and knobs, and a maple neck? (SRV's is similar but his has a rosewood fretboard) I have been looking but i havnt found one tongue

The original pickups is called "3 Vintage Style Single-Coil Strat® Pickups with Staggered Pole Pieces, Alnico Magnets, Aged Covers " if you read on the specs at fender.com...They were OK but not more.

I dont have any other pickups to compare my new ones for so i dont know how they are compared to like texas specials or anything else sad
