Topic: Weber Mass Unit

Hey everyone I'm new to the attenuator thing but I have to say that the Weber Mass Unit is great.  I own a Blackface Pre-CBS Bassman head that has always sounded great but is extremely loud for a small room/apartment.  I recently saw Derek Trucks live and wondered how he got such a gainy smooth distortion just plugging into his Super Reverbs.  With the Weber Mass I'm finally able to crank that puppy up and get some stunning sounds.  The Bassman has almost too much distortion if you can believe that.  Anyway I highly recommend it for anyone who has a hard time taming one of their amps.

Re: Weber Mass Unit

I take it that it is made by Ted Weber? I'll have to check it out. Thanks ..

Re: Weber Mass Unit

Yes it's made by Ted Weber.  I actually have the stereo version which allows me to attenuate two amps at once and at different levels.  For example, I can run a 100 watt amp and 18 watt amp together at the same volume/gain levels because each side of the attenuator runs seperately. I use it for my 40 watt Hiwatt combo and Dr Z Maz 18.  It's definately the best option I've heard of for guys running more than one amp that needs attenuation.
