Topic: Queen + Paul Rodgers - The Cosmos Rocks

This is another cd I recently picked up. A suprisingly enjoyable cd. Wasn't sure what to expect but this cd rocks pretty good (of course I could listen to Mr. Rodgers sing the phone book listings). Highly recommended.

P.S. : I bought mine at Best Buy and they have a choice of the standard cd orr for $1 more you can get the bonus 1 hour live DVD. I went for the bonus DVD - Queen + Paul Rodgers live in Japan. Good stuff Maynard.

When I was a child I spoke as a child, But all I heard was how I should get ahead,
Now growing up it ain't anything but all This indecision with these debts and doubts
And worries hanging over my head. When I was a child I spoke as a child,
I wish I could remember what I said.

Re: Queen + Paul Rodgers - The Cosmos Rocks

I've heard it and was pleasantly suprised. Something stops me buying it though. Probably because I never saw them as a natural fit even though they've made it work very successfully. I've just finished a Brian May biography and his admiration for PR is total and from what I have read it works the other way too.

Like you I would happily listen to PR sing the A-Z but if I am honest I am keen to see the Queen Project run its course this year. Why? Well I still have hopes that Free can be reformed. Andy Fraser has said it depends on Paul, and Simon Kirke seems to be in as well.

That would mean then they need to find a guitar player who digs the music; bluesrock with massive feel and tone. Perhaps instead of an existing icon, I would prefer somebody who is on the way up and who can really bring something 'extra' and new to the material. Somebody who could step outside of his own career for a short time, bask in the undoubted global exposure it would bring, record some material and then move on to even greater things.

Do we know anyone who might fit the bill?

I would remortgage the house to get a ticket for a reformed Free. Incredible as it is, even I was too young to catch them in their prime sad

Re: Queen + Paul Rodgers - The Cosmos Rocks

I saw them in Manchester in November and thought they were great. Paul Rodgers is one of the finest singers ever IMO.

Even though no one could replace Freddie Paul does a great job especially on the Cosmos Rocks stuff.
