Topic: Joe's Line 6 DL4 settings?

anyone know how joe sets his DL4 to get that swelled delay sound for the volume sweeps?

Re: Joe's Line 6 DL4 settings?

Hi,

I'm very sure he hasn't used the DL-4 swell effect for the violining.
Its more a technique of hitting a string and blend the tone in with the vol.pot.
He really mastered it. But of course you can try this with the DL-4 too.
I personally never liekd that effect as it was too static prior the alteration
of the timing.

He did actually use the DL-4 swell on the intro for Pain and Sorrow (a kick **** song if I do say so myself) off the So Its Like That album.  He does use the pinky on the volume of the guitar trick expertly as well though, as seen on the Rockpalast DVD.

yes I have gotten the pinky volume swell technique down, but the effect he used to enhance the sound was really the key to getting that "violin/string" type sound.
