Topic: Save Pacific Road

Thanks for joining "Save Pacific Road" Facebook page Joe. I also note you are the US Ambassador for the page. thank you for that too.

Pacific Road is a music and arts centre in the docklands of Birkenhead. It is a converted tram shed with great facilities where many music genres have performed over recent years including our Joe, several times. In fact he parks his bus inside the tram shed, backed up to the stage - not many venues where you can do that eh Joe. The auditorium can be set up as tiered seating like for Paul Jones Blues Band (Yes, he off Radio 2) Tables in a dining style for concerts, or standing. The capacity was recently increased just to house all of Joe's fans on his last visit. The council want to close the venue and transfer the activity to their new theatre, all seated, 800 capacity. which will quite simply just not be the same.

The council have put together a "Strategic Asset Review" which essentially means they are closing a number of Librarys, 3 Leisure Centres (one of which is where we have our diving club boathouse, Compressor and clubhouse, so we will effectively have to close after 54 years of operation!) and countless other council owned buildings. Re: Save Pacific Road

Hi Geoff,
I can't believe they want to close Pacific Road!!! It's a great venue and the one where I first saw Joe. I don't do Facebook, is there another way I can register my protest?

Tripsy sad
