Just found out that the amazing 12 yo harp player LD Miller on Joe's CD was just cast on Simon Cowell/American Idol's new show due out this summer "America's Got Talent". Even Simon can't say a word against this little genius. I hope we all get to vote!!!! 
Got to see Joe live at Midwest Music Summit and LD played with him...wow what a pair up live.
I just heard he was 12 .... Very suprised

LD is amazing!!! One of my favorite songs from You and Me is Your Funeral My Trial...LD is truly a natural and he really kicks the song up a couple notches by showing off his talent!!! I haven't watched Idol since KWS made an appearance and never really took to the show, do the television viewers get to vote? Maybe a young version of America's Talent would be kicked up a notch too. I would love to see Joe and LD together at a show!!
not a fan of Idol either, but I'm definitely going to watch anything LD is on. I just looked up on line and yes, we'll get to vote and there's a $1Mill prize. So get ready to suffer thru a few circus acts to vote for someone really deserving of some recognition. Hope to get to see him live with Joe again soon, but I'm going to see him with the band he is in with his brothers and dad in PA this week.
nancyo-I just looked up the tour schedule and they are an hour from where I live. You'll have to tell me how the show was. I won't be able to get there Thursday or Friday.
I got a surprise e-mail today from I don't know who, but it is of LD Miller hanging and doing a tune for the new American Idol dude.

yeah...me too. I was the one that posted the message about him being down there doing a show with his band and happened to meet Taylor at the hotel after the show promoters told him about LD. Good exposure for LD since Taylor is so popular right now. I already wrote something, but one of you should mention that he is on Joe's CD...that will be good for Joe Too...sadly, today anyway, Taylor is more of a household word than Joe. Maybe if this new Idol show is just as big, maybe by the end of summer, LD will be able to help Joe's career instead...heh heh. I heard that LD is on America's Got Talent with one of his brothers on either June 20 or 21. Watch and Vote.
I wouldn't be surprised if Joe's name comes up in any interviews on the show, since LD recently recorded "Your Funeral My Trial" and (i would think) might mention that.

I saw the Clayton Miller Band back in 2004 as the opener for Prairie Dog Blues Fest , in Prairie du Chien, Wi.
We were there mainly to see Joe for our second time, and Corey Stevens, but loved the Millers and picked up their CD, Gotta Have Love. The young LD was obviously very talented on the harp and also showed off his vocals singing, "You Give me Fever". The big brothers are also quite talented and very easy on the eyes, I might add. The big surprise near the end of the evening was to find LD up on stage jamming with JBB. I don't know if Joe knew of LD before that night, but it was very cool to see. We're hoping to catch the Millers in concert again soon. Haven't checked their website lately.
Lui, American Idol is a television show where ordinary people can audition to sing on the show. At the start of the season there are some bad singers mixed with the good and audience members get to vote the less good ones off on each show. The winner gets a recording contract. I haven't watched it much but it is a real phenomenon among the masses in the U. S.
Becky, I was at the Prairie Dog Festival and saw LD jam with Joe, too. He's quite an amazing young talent. Your Funeral and My Trial is really growing on me, too. I'll have to watch that show if he's going to be on it.
Cool pics! Thanks for the link, Jane. That might be the one; I can't remember what the guys were wearing that night. I was in pretty rough shape; thank God I don't see myself in there. I do remember Joe said something like "This is one of the most talented young musicians I've met". Unfortunately, I had to head straight for the hotel after the show, and didn't get to talk with the guys.
Dude, that's cool you were there. What a great line-up that weekend, and such a laid-back atmosphere. We loved it, but couldn't stay for Sat. My brother's girlfriend somehow knows JD Simo who played Sat night, and is also quite good, I heard.
Funny story and a testament to the Millers. If they hadn't been the kind of people they are, they wouldn't have been at the Prairie Dog and met Joe that night. They had an offer for a much bigger show for like 4 times more money that night, but they had made a commitment to Prairie Dog, so they kept it.
LD and his brother Cole were on America's Got Talent this week. I heard they are on again for the semifinals this coming Wednes. July 12 and AMerica gets to vote I think for just 24 hours. I don't know how many times we get to vote, but I'll be voting as much as they let me for LD and Cole.
NBC seems to really be pushing another little girl singer...featuring her everywhere. Let's all vote it up for someone with some real instrumental chops and big Joe B fans...The Millers. Even if you can't catch the show, you can still vote!!! probably at nbc.com Let's do it up, blues and Joe fans!
So, I apologize in advance for clogging the boards a bit on this, but don't want anyone to miss this and I know all us Joe fans are also LD fans.
THIS WEDNES AUG. 16 IS THE FINALS FOR AMERICA'S GOT TALENT ON NBC AND WE ALL HAVE TO BE READY TO KICK IT IN GEAR FOR LD MILLER> Here is the scoop.
Show is 8-10pm on NBC and I've heard LD and his brother Cole are on near the end of the finals. VOTING is 10pm to 12 midnight only. Everyone can vote 10 times per phone line. The # will probably be 866-846-8310. You also need to vote 10 times per email at nbc.com and can text 10 times "10" to 97979. The numbers might be wrong but will be posted on the show after 9:30pm.
The Millers are running about 3rd or 4th in most polls, and the heavy favorite is an Idol style singer that has raw talent, but hasn't made the kind of sacrifices the Millers have pursuing original blues and blues/rock music for 5 years on the road. So Joe fans, we're on a mission. for real music.
For those of you who are truly excited about this (and I know there is a lot) and want to get behind this, the best thing you can do is to email friends, family, coworkers, anyone you know and ask them to vote this Wednes. too. Heck, I've even been telling flight attendants, store clerks and tellers this week.
Lets all vote Chicago style ....early(well.... as soon as NBC will let us on Wednesday) and often. LD is like Joe was at age 12(only on blues harp)...and we know with both...the sky's the limit! Props to all the Miller family!

Feel free to vote in the poll, but mostly get out the vote tonight in the real vote at nbc.com and by dialing 866-856-8310 after 10pm 10 times on every phone/fax/cell line you have access to and texting "10" to 97979 . More importantly, please take 5 minutes out of your day to email 20 or 30 friends in a mass email asking them to do the same.
If they win, LD will definitely be mentioning Joe B. in all his post show media frenzy. VOTE TONIGHT!!!!
