Topic: Greetings

Hello everyone,

Just thought I'd stop by and say a few words about myself. I'm Jacob, I live in Moscow, Russia, been a Joe fan since the release of the second album. I haven't seen Joe live yet, but that's about to change as he's doing a two-night stand at the prestegious Performing Arts Center in Moscow on 6-7 December. I know this will be Joe's second visit to Russia and he played the same venue last year, but I couldn't make it back then. This time I will be attending and taping both shows, so hopefully I will have decent recordings to share with you. Would you expect a change in the setlists for these shows?
From what I've read so far, this seems like a friendly place to hang out with fellow Bonamassa fans. Hopefully I will become a regular here.
Jacob.

Re: Greetings

Welcome to the forum Jakob! smile

Joe does vary his setlist, but I would not expect many major changes from the set lists at present, unless he decides to throw in a new song or two...

Hope you enjoy the shows when they come around!

Re: Greetings

Hey Jacob,

Welcome to the forum - you are right about the "friendly place" here, we´re all very friendly and peacful people (most of the time - we turn into little green monsters when someone tries to attack Joe wink). We call ourselfs "Bonabuddies" and it´s always a pleasure to meet these friends from different countries and enjoy the gift of music together. Moscow is faaar away for a lot of us, but I do hope that you also get the chance to experience these kinds of meetings. smile

Have a great time here on the forum - looking forward to read more from you!! smile

Re: Greetings

Thanks for jumping in Jacob! I've got to tell you, I'm SO excited to know we will be getting a review from Russia. AND you'll tape it!! You've already made loads of Bonabuddies for that reason alone. Half the fun is reading the show reviews leading up to yours. So, post away, have fun and stay warm!!!      Cathy

Re: Greetings

I hope you WILL become a regular here too Jacob.  What a nice first post you've made.  I'm so excited for your upcoming FIRST JOE SHOW.  Just be aware...... no matter what you've heard before on your stereo, nothing can prepare you adequately for what you are about to experience.  Nothing.  Seeing Joe LIVE is unlike anything you will ever do....... your chin will spend much of the evening on the floor...... trust me.

A VERY WARM WELCOME to you!!!  Let us know how it goes for you.  Post often!!!

I know that Joe could play one of those kid's guitars with the plastic strings and make it sound good-

Re: Greetings

Hey Jacob and welcome to Joes' forum. You're the first Russian guy I've seen here. I'm glad you've found this place and am looking forward to enjoying some footage from your concert experience. As far as Joes' setlist is concerned, I don't think he switches it up too much so if I were you I would be checking back in with us to read about what he's throwing down in Europe. I would love to see Joe over seas.....What a party that would be.....

Re: Greetings

Welcome aboard!  Look forward to hearing about the 2 night shows.

Re: Greetings

Thank you for the warm welcome, guys! I'll most defnitely post a review of both shows. The venue is a 1,700 seater and surprisingly enough both gigs are almost sold out. They also have Kenny Wayne Shepherd booked for next year, which is a must see as well.

Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm already looking forward to the new Bond flick, I believe it releases here in the states next Fri. the 14th, right about the same time as Jason Stathan's 3rd Transporter installment. Action, action, action. I've been a Bond fan since Dr. No when I was just a kid, please don't do the math on that one. Nice to meet you Jacob.

Re: Greetings

A very warm welcome to the forum Jacob. Firstly, may I compliment you on your English. It's very good. The only word I know in Russian is vodka! Luckily the language of music transcends all borders. Have a great time at your two Joe shows, look forward to hearing about them.

Re: Greetings

Hi Jacob

Welcome aboard.
I can't see Russia from my house but here's a wave anyway.

Your English is really good - well, perfect actually. Were you born in Russia ?

You will be amazed at Joe and the guys live.

I look forward to your posts and letting us know what you guys think of the shows.

This is one of the best uses of the interweb thingy. We can all chat wherever we are in the world about the passion we share. I thought it amazing that I could type something and someone way out west across the ocean could read it and reply, and we can all share the  warmth with each other brought together because of the music. I have to think way east as well, extended past Germany and Holland now. Brilliant.

Best wishes.
Ges.

Re: Greetings

A warm welcome from me too Jakob.

I did send your national footfallcoach Guus Hiddink ( he's from Holland) an email 2 months ago that he has to see Joe in Moscow. he should go with the national team if possible.
I know he likes guitarmusic, my wife comes from Varsseveld where Guus is born and raised. When he has seen Joe , he can make some promo for him in Russia!!
Didn't get a message back, will send a new one this week!

Thank you for the kind words. I was actually born in Argentina, but my parents and the whole family are Russian.

Cheers
Jacob.
