Topic: Matt Schofield and Silom McBride at Dingwalls, London - TONIGHT

For anyone in London area, this looks like a great evening of blues-rock tonight!

MATT SCHOFIELD + SIMON McBRIDE
Tue 28 October
DINGWALLS

MATT SCHOFIELD (New band preview!)

With a paper trail of transatlantic press plaudits, Matt Schofield is being talked of as the finest Blues-inspired guitarist to have emerged in Europe for several generations, perhaps even in the World.

Britain’s Guitarist magazine describes Schofield’s playing as 'Dynamite', while The Los Angeles Daily News describes Schofield as 'Head and shoulders above the herd. The best blues guitarist to have emerged from any country in decades.'

Imagine crossing an iconic power trio like Cream or the Hendrix Experience with the Hammond-organ-laden and distinctly American sound of the Allman Bros (plus throw in some switchblade blues guitar), and you start to understand where this band is coming from.

Schofield is usually associated with a trio line up (with bass being played on the Hammond organ) but for this night he will be previewing a new 4 piece band line up that recently completed recording his next album release.

SIMON McBRIDE

A new name on the blues-to-rock scene, Irishman Simon McBride evokes the spirit of such great bands as Free and Led Zeppelin. McBride’s talents as a guitarist are undeniable.

At 16 he was Guitarist Magazine’s Young Guitarist of The Year, a performance competition won against strong competition.

That was 13 years ago, since when he has toured the world as guitarist for acts as diverse as Sweet Savage and Andrew Strong. His debut album of original material releases October 13.

At the same venue on Oct 30 you can catch the IAN SIEGAL BAND and T99.
