Topic: Returning Member...

Hi everyone....

Its been a long time since I've posted.  I use to be active on the old board and just lost my way to the new one. 

I was at the Las Vegas show and met Libby and Steve.   I had so much fun listening to them and all the wonderful things they've been up to.    Found out we've been to several of the same shows but this one is the first time we met.... so a BIG hello to them.  Wanted to say.....thank you...to Libby for the great picture she took of my daughter Krisanne and Joe.   Of course the one I took, Joe has his eyes closed...lolo.   

I've been a big Joe fan since seeing him in Dallas the week-end of Eric Clapton's first Crossroads concert.  Joe was playing in a small bar "Deep Ellum Blue" with Mike Morgan, Jim Suhler and Alan Haynes.   By the time the night ended, around 2:30am, Joe was the only one standing and won over several fans.  I was lucky to get some great pictures of that nights show.   At one of Joe's show I asked if he'd sign a few of the pictures.   When he saw them...he said "you were there that night"....  I said.."oh yes....great show".

Hope to meet some of you down the road at a Joe show...

Hi Shirley...welcome back.

I remember you well, from the night at Deep Ellum Blues. That was a special night, as we had flown JB in to Dallas to do some promo for the upcoming Joe Fest. He spent time at the Charley's Guitar Shop booth at the guitar show associated with the Crossroads festival and then sat in with Jim Suhler (and others) at the now defunct Deep Ellum Blues.

Joe knocked out the power, fried an amp, and left an unsuspecting audience with jaws on floor. I remember one of the other guitar slingers on stage that night, after throwing Joe a solo opportunity -- the guy just stepped back from the mic and smiled ear to ear. After the song, this other artist, stepped to the mic and proclaimed...."muy bueno!".....just a great night.

Jim Moody laying on the floor in front of the stage snapping photos as fast as he could was a sight to see as well.

Didn't you used to use the handle "SRVGAL" or something similar? Maybe I'm mistaken.

damn its good to be back.   Sometimes you have to leave and then return to remember how good you had it...lolo

srvgal is my very good friend Chelie, she was with me the first night I saw Joe and several concerts after that.   She even came all the way from NJ, met me in Reno for two of Joe's shows.  Of course we've seen him both times his played the SRV Ride.

One of my favorite show was the Malibu Inn Show.  It was one of the first shows with then..."his new band"....  The place is so small, I was front and center, almost on stage.
I love Joe, in those small clubs.  He was awesome that night and in great spirits, he never mentioned my t-shirt and the fact he couldn't sell it anymore.

When I was on the site before...I used Shirl, tried to use it again but it was taken...or it was still me and i just didn't try for a new password.  But, oh well, I'm back and glad to be here.

Will be in Dallas this week-end, enjoying some great music, it would be complete if Joe was there again this year.

It's all coming back to me now.....

We also were at most, if not all, of the shows you mentioned. Reno, Vegas, etc.

Ah what fun memories.

A-Ha! The T-Shirt! So I did meet you before the show!  I still have mine too (love it) and without fail it is one of the top attention getters amongst  the T-shirts and people ALWAYS discern it's a musician not a bike...

How glad I am to have met you and your darling daughter Krisanne, and to have successfully talked you into coming back to the FORUM !!!!  Yippeee! 

Sorry I wasn't here to greet you sooner (officially anyway).  Oh, and don't kick yourself TOO hard....... I got one good shot of Joe and Krisanne and one with his eyes closed TOO!!!

Hi Shirley. Lucky girl! Sounds like you had some wonderful Joe experiences. Thanks for coming back and sharing. Now, how about showing us some of those pictures?? It's no surprise Libby brought you back. It's just a shame she has no enthusiasm...oh well... Cathy
