Topic: Look at You, Look at Me cover

There have been more than a few threads about covers Joe should do. Yesterday I heard a song on XM from Dave Mason's "Alone Together" album (Only You know and I Know) and immediately thought of Joe covering "Look at You, Look at Me" from that album.
Great song with lots of room for Joe to shine.

Among MANY others, I'd love to hear Joe do a version of SRV's "Tin Pan Alley" and speaking of Dave Mason, Gov't Mule's version of "Sad And Deep As You" from Live With A Little Help From Our Friends would be my other top choice for Joe to cover.

That is one of my all time fovorite albums. Joan Osborne does it on one of her recent releases.

Okay, I may be way out there on another planet from the rest of you, but I would love to hear Joe do Fogerty's "Keep On Chooglin'" and "Tombstone Shadow."  I think he could blow the roof off the place with Chooglin.'  And he could set a smooth dancin' groove in the whole place with Tombstone.  Hey, Joe  bring it on when we see you at The Surf in November smile:):):)

Re: Look at You, Look at Me cover

Hey Patty, I'm checking in from the same planet then. A while back the topic of covers came up here and I threw out Tombstone Shadow as well as I Wonder Who by Rory Gallagher. I've been a Creedence fan since ' 68. A lot of people don't think of them as a blues band, but most of their stuff before Bayou Country was very bluesy stuff. I still run into people who believe they were from New Orleans or there abouts. Whatever Joe chooses to cover is always fine by me. Alone Together is a classic, I have the original on vinyl with the multi-colored swirled vinyl. Dave Mason still tours and does a number of those tunes.

Re: Look at You, Look at Me cover

I am a HUGE Dave Mason fan.  This is his alltime classic album. I made a post about seeing him with Leon Russell.  He was so good in concert, beyond any expectation I had...Except for aging a bit, the man is still at the top of his game, vocals, guitar playing...if you like him and he's coming close to your town, you will not be disappointed when you see him. I really enjoyed hearing a couple of the Traffic songs, All Along the Watchtower and Dave did a song he finished writing on behalf of Capaldi, who was writing it before he died. All of the years I've followed Dave and I never knew until recently that he played guitar on Hendrix's recorded version of Watchtower.  And that original vinyl version with the multi-colored marble look drove dj's nuts because it was hard to distinguish where songs started.  Fans brought that album for him to sign after the show.  I was pleasantly surprised he did a signing after the show.  I can't quite get use to the design of his guitar, it's really different looking.

As far as other covers, I've had a couple wild ideas, like covering a female band song...haha.. ok laugh...definitely put a different spin on it....my first choice...Bonnie Raitt's "Dangled and Dark", would show off Mark's bass playing; it's one of my favorite songs that Bonnie wrote.

Re: Look at You, Look at Me cover

RKO you're a mind reader. I just got Top Priority by Rory about a month ago and the first time I heard Off The Handle I said this has Joe cover written all over it. Joe's music and his cover of Cradle Rock has rekindled my love of Rory's music. I'm slowly, but surely replacing my old Rory cassettes with CD's. The Irish Clapton lives on!!!!!!!
