Topic: Days On The Green

Bill Graham started this series of shows in the early '70's in the Oakland Coliseum Stadium as there was no way to contain the mega line-ups indoors. I attended the very first one and many others over the years. These gigs were a test of your endurance especially on the hotter summer days that occured. Some of the more bizarre things I've ever seen in public were witnessed here. The SF Bay Area at this time was the best place on the planet to get schooled in "live" music. I'll provide the link to have a look at the list. The Stones show in '78 on Mick's birthday was the most memorable, especially the part where Keith and Ronnie had to be located at the party they went to in LA the night before and whisked to Oakland by private jet while the crowd waited 2 hours between sets. Ahhhh, the rock star lifestyle. If you see a show you were at feel free to comment. The Dead & The Who together was a ripper too.
