Topic: Joe has a #1 downloaded album on itunes!

I just received word that Joe has a #1 downloaded album on itunes! I don't have all the details at this point, but we wanted to get this information to you as soon as possible.

Itunes has a "Tell a friend" feature, and we are asking people to go to it and use it to tell thier friends about Joe on itunes. This position on itunes is a big deal, and will help spread the word about Joe and support his itunes position - which provides us the opportunity to get the word out to a broader audience.

I will duplicate the post in the Street Team category, and we'll be sending out a short newsletter to Joe's subscribed mailing list and Street Team members.

Thanks, Stu

Awesome news!

#1 blues album maybe?  Whatever it is..great stuff.

Yep, it's been #1 in Blues for quite a while now.  Good news indeed.

Dino posted something like it wasn't listed under blues last week. i tried to go look and from here it won't let me do anythign without downloading something.
so is it really under blues?
and also is there a blues-rock section?
thanks
Jane

Yeah, you must download the free itunes software to see the info I guess. If you have a PC you've got to have Win2000 or XP to download it - folks like me w/ Win98 are out of luck.

Re: Joe has a #1 downloaded album on itunes!

Jane, there is a little confusion about the labels on iTunes, but yes there is a blues section.  When you're at the Music Store's home page, there is a drop-down list box at the left that says "Choose Genre."  If you choose blues, it takes you to the blues homepage, where down at the bottom right under "Today's Top Albums," "You and Me" by Joe Bonamassa is listed as #1 and has been for at least a couple of weeks when I have checked on it.  If you click on the album it is labeled "Genre: Blues" as are all of Joe's albums.

Where a little confusion comes in is if you are at the Music Store home page and type in Joe Bonamassa.  The albums that are listed have "Genre: Blues" by them but on the right side of the screen it has listed under Artists Joe Bonamassa: Pop, and Joe Bonamassa: Rock, along with Devon Allman's Honeytribe.  To me it's not a big deal, and it may even attract some people who might be turned off by the "Blues" label.  But each individual album is definitely identified as blues and Joe is in the blues section.

Also, today under the Top 100 songs in the blues section, "So Many Roads" is #23, "High Water Everywhere" is #63, and "Asking Around" is #74.  This changes a lot as I saw "Bridge" on there before and even "Reconsider Baby" off of HTCT at one time.  So what do you know, there is a definite market for good music even among the digital crowd.

Re: Joe has a #1 downloaded album on itunes!

number one downloaded across all genres? that's quite a feat in this pre-packaged american idol age

Re: Joe has a #1 downloaded album on itunes!

Also, under "Today's Top Albums" in the blues section the Top 100 albums include, in addition to "You and Me" at #1, "Blues Deluxe" at #13, ANDY Live at #24, HTCT at #30, and ANDY at #44.

There is no blues-rock category in the genre list.
Until I saw this topic I had never really browsed through the iTunes store very much. Incredible to see 5 of Joe's albums in the top 100 blues albums.

This is great news!!!!

This is a FYI, in case you didn't know and didn't read it in another thread.

As far as Jim's comment about collecting everything Joe...some of the newer fans may not know that Joe did a recording of a Bloodline song "Good Luck You're Having" on a Les Paul recording.  For some reason that still mystifies me, it did not end up on the Les Paul and Friends CD.  You can purchase it on itunes under Les Paul...go down to G for Good Luck and give it a listen...it's very good, shame it didn't make the cut.

I like it as well and it is a song that I wish Joe would do live. For some reason, I don't think Joe likes it well enough to give it a go.

On the itunes note - that is all good news.

Re: Joe has a #1 downloaded album on itunes!

I just was checking over at itunes.  Does anyone know why down in the right hand corner with the top ten list, Keb'Mo' is #1, Joe at #2, but if you click on the top 100, Joe is #1, and Keb is #2??  I thought there was lag time if something was being updated, but nothing changed while I was looking around...
