It's official!!!  If you want to get the "gold circle" tickets you have to call the box office over the phone at 704-358-9298.  They are the first five rows right in front of the stage.

Hey David,
I can't let this thread go with just replies from you smile. Thanks for the report! It's always nice to hear about each show even if it's a quick note like yours. It sounds like you're on a pretty good run of shows - good for you!

Take care and travel safe!

Re: Charlotte, NC - Oct. 16, 2008

This was my second time seeing Joe. The first time was at the Handlebar(greenville sc) earlier this year. I think this show was better than the first one. I was blown away by both shows. I brought a couple of new people with me and they walked away amazed and Joe fans now. I got very lucky at the show. Joe threw his pick on the last note on the last song near me. It hit the floor and everybody around  was looking for it. My friend Chris came up with it and after much begging and threating,( to make him walk the 100 miles home). He gave it to me. His intention was to give it to me all along. He just wanted to hear me beg for it. What a friend,( I might have called a cab or rented a car). Out of all the concerts I have been to this is the first pick I have ever gotten and its from my favorite musician out there right now. It will go in the coffin with me when I pass.

Thanks Joe, for giving me some precious new memories and helping me through what has been a trying time in my life.

Welcome Aboard xrocker,

Thanks for the review and I am so happy smile  you got a Joe pick!!!!!  Fun to see friends amazed at the talent & genius of Joe  and then become Joe fans instantly, thanks for sharing.  And once again I read about the magic of Joe helping out in people's lives.  I don't think even Joe knows the depth of his power....he's unique, he's the one, the only....he's Joe ?

Re: Charlotte, NC - Oct. 16, 2008

Well this was my first time seeing Joe live and be sure it will not be the last! I actually only discovered his music about 3 weeks before the show here in Charlotte. I was checking out the web site and seen a date listed ,had no idea where the venue was but i knew i needed to get tickets. I also brought 2 friends and my wife and informed another friend about the show who brought 2 others so total we had 7. I have to say i was totally blown away with his abilities ,i'm a big Led Zepplin fan and he got into that Dazed and Confused riff i'd swear it was Jimmy himself on that stage. The theator he played at couldn't have been a better place to see him for the first time very intimate place. Sound quality was good ,we sat in the center almost back near the mixing boards. It was very cool when near the end of Askin Around for You Joe stepped to front of the stage and belted out the lyrics without the mic, he really puts his heart and soul into his music and it showed during that song. I'm hooked as a lifelong fan now and can't wait till comes around this way again. I've already considered heading north to cath a show since i still have family back up that way....alas I have too much work to do here to running off up north.
Again great show!!
Dave

Re: Charlotte, NC - Oct. 16, 2008

The October 16th Show in Charlotte was my first show too... although I have listened to his music for about four years now.  I have a copy of the DVD "JB: live from the Rockapalast" (I will write a review in another thread) and the CD "Sloe Gin".  Having caught the BLUES BUG, I knew what to expect at the show... And Joe gave us an awesome night in Charlotte. I knew the set list would be similar to his newest CD.
I also recall (as mentioned in the post above) that Joe has a strong enough voice now to belt out the last couple of verses of "Asking around for You" without a microphone. Bonamassa's voice is much stronger, rounder and just better in person. The other thing which stuck out to me, was how much bending, vibratos and harmonics he had in the cape for the show. Songs like "Sloe Gin," "Another Kind of Love," and "Just Got Paid" explode into something different when Joe plays them live. Youtube is fun, but it doesn't compare to a concert.
Before, I said I knew what to expect at the show... But I'm going to have to take that back. You see, I waited around until after the show because I've heard he has a meet and greet sometimes. Right now, I am holding onto some special tabs which I had ordered several months ago from this site... to study from. Joe was kind enough to sign my tabs- this was such a quality show. That's just something I wont forget. I will absolutely catch another show... And though the Crunchy Blues Tones in the songs above are what got me hooked first, I'd say that songs like "Asking Around for You," "If Heartaches were Nickels" and "Black Night is Falling"  illustrate something else in Bonamassa's playing- that's where his own true voice on the Les Paul comes in... the guitar is really almost like a voice in the Bluesy Ballads.

Re: Charlotte, NC - Oct. 16, 2008

I know this is an old post but I didn't get to post anything for a week after I registered.  Charlotte and the Neighborhood Theater is a fantasic place to check out any band.  Joe rocked the house off!  I was 6 rows back and I brought many friends with me to check it out.  The best part about Joe has to be he knows where he has come from and he wont for get it.  It shows because where else are you going to find someone who will play 2 to 3 hours as hard as they can and then be willing to stand out side signing autographs and taking pictures until everyone is happy?  Clapton wouldn't do it.  Aerosmith wont.  Neither will any other band that plays larger venues.  But I feel like Joe could play much larger places and still stand around outside til 12 at night signing autographs and taking pictures.  Flat out the man just gives back to the people who adore him.  Thank you Joe for such a wonderful night of music.  Again sorry I'm bringing up an old topic but I had to share this one thing!

I am the friend that Xrocker speaks of so highly in the above post.

Yes it is true, I did indeed give up a Joe pick for a very good friend.  However, there is more to this story, I did give him the pick that was thrown by Joe from the stage, but I also got a pick from the guitar tech.  2 Joe picks in 1 show !!!   I like to think that joe played with this pick also, but even if he didn't, it was used on his guitars, by the tech !!!   With any luck maybe XRocker can return the favor someday, and get a pick for me.  We did discuss having custody papers drawn up, with visitation rights !!!

I was with XRocker (Kenny) at both of the shows he attended and I am sure we will see many more Joe shows together, regardless of how far we have to travel.  I agree, this show was better, plus we had lots better seats, 4th row !!!

I am listening to Joe right now, I have to have a Joe fix ever day !!

I would like to reiterate,  Thanks Joe, for giving me, and everyone else, precious new memories.
