Topic: The Wimbledon Final

Did no one else except Cathy and I watch this???

According to John McEnroe, the best tennis match he's ever seen! I thought it was right there with the best that I could remember too, a truly epic, fantastic struggle with incredible twists and turns and some tennis that can only be described as out of this world.

On top of that, there was a crowd that cheered crucial points like a winning goal and lived every moment of a match that lasted the best part of five hours.

For me, this was a truly great sporting event.

Yep and I'm exhausted! Cycling the Tour this morning, then one of the longest finals (not even counting rain delays) that was the two BEST players in the world fighting for the prize. I don't know how I'm ever going to make it thru the Olympic trials tonight.....And, What's up with Spain??? The EC, Wimbeldon, and they have a rider in the yellow jersey in the Tour...a conspiracy, I'm certain...Where's the sangria????                                Cathy

We were right there with you guys!!  A fine match, indeed, although NOT the result we were hoping for.  Once you come down from the high of that spectacular show of SUPERB ATHLETICISM, and are ready for a bit of comic relief instead, you might enjoy these:

It was a tremendous final and I thoroughly enjoyed it. What absolute champions Federer and Nadal are and both so nice. True sportsmen. I liked it when Nadal jumped up onto the canopy to see his family and then scampered across to the royal box...a first for Wimbledon I'm sure.

Next year C'MON MURRAY!! He played a blinder on Monday.
