Re: Ultimate Guitar Contest - Joe Bonamassa

Sorry to say it but that's a pretty cheesy guitar. At least Epiphone could have given away the Les Paul Standard.

I give up! Only here could we read posts complaining about the quality of autographed guitar being given away for free, by a different website who is supporting Joe. I'm sure they will appreciate reading our comments. Maybe Dino is right!!!! LOL

Sorry Stu, but he is right.  I also think it sucks that the contest doesn't also include a week hangin' with Joe teaching me how to play just like him.  If I can't have it all, then I'm not interested.  Just kidding of course.  I signed up.  IF I win I promise not to complain.  smile

Ok,

So I don't even play guitar, but I entered. If I win, I guess I will be taking guitar lessons, or hanging it on the wall next to all my other blues memorabilia.

Later~~~

Thanks for the Heads Up.

I would love a Les Paul jr. Tune it to open G and do some slide. Perfect.

Re: Ultimate Guitar Contest - Joe Bonamassa

I never even heard about this site until a couple of days ago when my 15 year old son excitedly told me about it and sent me the link in an e-mail. Kids his age that play guitar, listen to classic rock along with bands like MUSE, also featured, visit this site every day to get music news and check out tabs. On the first day, Joe was on the homepage of the site down on the right side. Maybe someone else knows how many hits a day the site gets, etc. It's great exposure!

More important than WHAT kind of guitar it is, IS the fact that Joe has gained enough popularity to be featured and chosen for this contest!!!! Sorry, if I sound preachy or bossy today, but some of the occurences here lately are making me feel like I am having the same bad dream over and over again...

Sorry, I didn't realize it was autographed. I'm just saying that a cheap guitar doesn't hold a person's interest when it goes out of tune all the time.

Re: Ultimate Guitar Contest - Joe Bonamassa

Heck, I'd just be happy to have an electric guitar, and one signed by Joe at that!  Maybe when I get really good I can get a good one.  Hehe.

Re: Ultimate Guitar Contest - Joe Bonamassa

I know my son would appreciate the guitar. His Washburn Rover will only keep him busy so long before he starts begging for an electric. Okay, he already has. And he missed on the tele and the strat raffled off last month at a blues bash. This baby would be just the ticket. He could set it next to the other "signed by Joe Bonamassa" gear he has.

I'll take one of those little plastic ones if Joe signs it....it's been 25 years since I've played.

Wow, I wonder if I'm the first person on this forum who ever quoted himself (or herself).
I just wanted to say that I hope my comment above wasn't what spawned the thread about autographs. That was really sort of "tongue in cheek".

I didn't play guitar, either, but when I won the guitar from Joe in Jan. 2004, I briefly considered merely displaying it among the other memorabilia but ultimately I took it as a sign to learn how to play & took some lessons.  If there is hope for me, there is hope for anyone 'cause #1) it's only the 2nd thing in my life I've ever won (well, 3rd if you include the pizza that time) and #2) I had never played any instrument and have so little musical inclination that I can't even whistle!  My dad's health had begun its severe decline right at that time, and one of his last lucid conversations with me was about winning the guitar; he laughed and said, "I sure hope it came with a thick instruction book!"  While it's more of a science than an art and does not come very naturally in my case, it's a very enjoyable, interesting, and therapeutic learning process.

Re: Ultimate Guitar Contest - Joe Bonamassa

Hell yeah I entered!  Will look fantastic on my wall with all my Joe pictures and posters, and NO, I don't play either.  Would be a VERY prized possession in my opinion!
