Topic: New Aussie Fan

Hi all,

Like some of my fellow Aussies, I also just found about Joe just recently and I am kicking myself because his music is right up my street. Hey, better late than never I suppose.

Cheers,
Yozhik

Re: New Aussie Fan

Dearest Yozhik,

I am happy to be the first to welcome you aboard Joe Bonamassa's Forum (AKA The Place Where We All Have The Same Scars and Bruises From Kicking Ourselves So Hard For Not Knowing About Him Sooner).  Believe me, we have all suffered the same thing (well, almost all - his PARENTS did get to watch it ALL happen), but we also share in the INTENSE and IMMENSE gratitude that we HAVE discovered him and that his music is a deep rooted part of our very BEINGS now.

You're gonna have a good time here.  Lots of fun, friendly, informative folks.  Glad you could join us.

I know that Joe could play one of those kid's guitars with the plastic strings and make it sound good-

Re: New Aussie Fan

Thanks Libby. Appreciate the welcome.

I better get out and find where I can get some of his CD's without importing them from the states. If I have to though I will! :-)

Cheers,
Yozhik

Re: New Aussie Fan

Welcome Yozhik, that's an interesting name. smile

Hope you stick around. You'll find we're a pretty friendly bunch, some more friendly than pretty, admittedly wink

If you can afford it straight off, I'd recommend you purchase as many of Joe's CDs as possible, as you'll soon be wanting more. Have you been to www.jbonamassa.com/jbtv yet? There are plenty of cool videos of Joe playing live which will give you the taste for buying the Rockpalast and A New Day Yesterday (ANDY Live) DVDs and seeing Joe live, of course! smile

Re: New Aussie Fan

Thanks again all.

Phil, you bet I am going to arm myself with some CD's (and DVD's) as soon as I can, currently I am at work (in the middle of the ocean) so it will have to wait until I get home unfortunately. Until then JBTV is keeping me going. Luckily I have a guitar here with me as well so I can steal...er I mean learn some of Joe's licks! smile

Yozhik is just my nom de plume, my real name is Matt. wink

Again, thanks all for the warm welcome and I look forward to participating in the forum.

Cheers,
Matt

Re: New Aussie Fan

Hi Matt, welcome to the forum. Indeed we all know how you feel but don't kick yourself too hard. You have made the discovery now and that's the main thing. Enjoy hearing all Joe's great music for the first time and spread the word to as many of the uninitiated as you can.
By the way what do you do stuck in the middle of the ocean? Are you a sailor? wink

Re: New Aussie Fan

Hi Tripsy,

Close, I am an oil rig worker.

Amazon.com and my credit card got a rattle this morning so by the time I get home I should have a package of CD's and DVD's!

Cheers,
Matt

Sorry Jeff, yep, another guitarist....I can imagine that there are plenty on the forum.

Working on the rigs is just something I do to fund my music gear habit. wink

Welcome!

Yep.....and so do I.

I have found a way of controlling it though....move into a small two bedroom apartment where the second bedroom needs to have enough room left in it for a guest bed!

It dawned on me the other day that in my combined lounge/dining area I have more music equipment than furniture! smile

Cheers!

In Florida, US of America I have 4 vehicles parked in the blistering sun and equipo in the garage.  I had to back off cause I was told point blank "If I can't get to the washer & dryer..."
