Thanks Patty. I got the DVD that is a clip from a couple of months ago when Jim came through OKC with Thorogood. I'm glad they got a some of it on Youtube.

Jim is a good friend and a great guy. He is one of the first Texas blues guys to embrace Joe B. The Texas music scene respects Mr. Suhler. An endorsement from Jim meant a lot.

Get the DVD I know the people here will like it. His newest album Tijuana Bible already released in Europe not sure about the US but it will be out soon. Joe plays on one track.  My personal favorite is Bad JU JU. It is available on Lucky 7 records.

Re: Tijuana Bible - Jim Suhler & Monkey Beat

I love Jim Suhler.  I've got Live at "Blue Cat Blues," "Radio Mojo," and "Shake."  I can't find "Tijuana Bible" on Amazon.com or on iTunes, although some of his stuff is on iTunes.  I hope Jim makes TJ and the rest of his catalog more available because I'd love to get a bunch of it.  I'd think Joe and others could offer a pretty good testimonial for the value of at least making stuff available through iTunes.

A few of my favorite songs from him are "Devil's Hand" and "Ain't Comin' Home Tonight" from Radio Mojo and "Bad News" and "Graveyard Train" from Shake.  Badass bluesrock and he has a great voice, too.

I have the CD "Tijuana Bible" - picked it up about a year ago when we saw Jim and the Monkey Beat in Minneapolis - and it is one great CD! I highly recommend it! Joe plays lead guitar on the track titled "Deep Water Lullaby". Next to "Sloe Gin" it is my favorite album we purchased last year. I think it is still just available in Europe unless you happen to catch one of Jim's shows. Hopefully they will release it in the States soon.

Re: Tijuana Bible - Jim Suhler & Monkey Beat

Jim is always a treat, awesome musician, better person. One of the true gems.

He truly puts it out there when he plays club dates with MonkeyBeat. We've seen him play well over 2 hour sets (no break) and over 4 hour nights. He'll damn sure wear out a drummer and bass player....lol.

We've also always enjoyed it when he plays with JB or vice versa. It doesn't happen much any more but they work well together.

Great album. Not in your face, but very solid all the way through, and with the amount of songs on it, that says something. Not available to buy online yet, but if you see Jim live, be sure to grab it, as it's definitely recommended.
