I think that's his #1 guitar - a '59 RI LP with PAF's from a 1963 ES-335.

The only thing that makes me think its not his no1 is the scratch plate, I don't recall a scratch plate that guitar.

Yeah, It's a Tom Murphy aged guitar.  Murphy is the guy from Gibson who basically oversaw the development of the Custom Shop Re-issue programme, and he specialises in artificial aging.  He used to paint a lot of of the guitars himself.  Those guitars are considered to carry a premium by a lot of people.
I have a couple teh 1959 re-issue, commonly called R9's, which are outstanding guitars.  One has a flame top a lot like Joe's.

It looks a lot different in this pic.  When youi shine a bright flash or stagelight on these tops, they "pop".  This is a more moodily lit shot.  Same big chevrons on the top though.
