Topic: Ringo Starr's tour

If you've never seen Ringo and his Allstar tour, its great...far better than I even imagined the first time I saw him...and Edgar Winter is touring with Ringo.  The tickets aren't outrageous either which is a nice bonus.  I was really disappointed in the ticket prices for Clapton in Atlantic City with Robert Randolph...$500 a ticket, I almost feel out of my chair...ouch!  I think Eric would have to climb down off the stage and give me a big kiss for that price! wink  I'm still glowing from MSG, it will hold me over!

Re: Ringo Starr's tour

Angela,

I am going to see Ringo and his All Star band at the Fraze in Kettering, OH this summer...I have seen him and the All Stars twice before...He has a different band each time he takes them out on tour...The best one was the band that included Joe Walsh...Ringo does some of his Beatles stuff and each member of the band features music that made them famous...I guarantee that you will remember each song that you hear that night...It is a fun time...

The Other Joe B.

Re: Ringo Starr's tour

I would love to see Ringo.  When I was a kid & totally Beatle crazy, they came out with the Beatle dolls.  I believe they were a whopping $2.00 a piece.  I begged my Mom for them.  When she had finally saved the $2.00 for me to get one, I raced into the 5 & 10 store and there sat one left.....Ringo......still one of my most prized childhood treasures ?

Re: Ringo Starr's tour

I saw the tour a couple of years ago. Had Gregg Lake, Roger Hogsdon, Shiela E, and Ian Hunter. Ian was a major let down. Closest I'd come to seeing ELP, and have always been a Supertramp fan. Shiela E was the surprise of the night.

Re: Ringo Starr's tour

I went to the Ringo Starr show Saturday night.  Fun show, more guests this time it seemed, so a little less Beatle music, they played almost 2 1/2 hours.   One guest I didn't even know would be with the band was formerly from the Average White Band...so he did a couple of their songs including Pick Up the Pieces.  I think Edgar Winter stole the show.  The man has not lost any enthusiasm for performing in the 30 years since I last saw him; he is just killer on the keys and saxophone, we all really enjoyed him, especially Frankenstein.  Gary Wright was there, I totally burnt out on his music from too much radio play, but he is a very talented song writer and he played a new song he wrote recently.  He told a very cool story about the song Dreamweaver.  He was friends with George Harrison and played on All Things Must Pass.  George gave him a book of poetry and there was a line that Gary wrote in his journal because he liked the way it sounded...it was about falling asleep and weaving dreams.  He later wrote a song around it.

Jim, I noticed you mentioned Shiela E., she wasn't there this time, but she is remarkable, saw her last time and didn't realized until I watched that Prince special on VH1 classic that Prince really gave her her big break!
