Allman Brothers Postone Beacon Dates, Allman Recovering from Hep C

Okay - that was weird - I wrote a reply - sent it, and, it vanished!  So, I'm gonna give it another shot, and, if the first one appears in the meantime, you'll know I'm not crazy (well, not crazy in THAT way, anyway). 

Indeed, it is a wicked disease.  One of my closest cousins has been battling against it for many years.  Luckily, we still have her, but, she is in no way "cured".  Some of the regimens have been more debilitating than the disease itself, and she has had to cut many courses of treatment short.  She has cirrhosis.  She has some brain damage, permanent, they say - memory, reaction time, etc.  She has better days, but, beyond the pain she suffers from time to time, sometimes she doesn't have the energy to get out of bed.  She has gone through several periods of having blotchy, discolored skin and terribly thinning hair.  People stare.  It's pretty brutal and difficult to watch this happen to anyone, let alone someone as kind, warm, giving and funny as my cousin.  Basically, she needs another liver, but, as sick as she is, she's not considered to be sick enough.  Apparently, she has to be closer to death.  That's the terrible truth.  The uneven treatment of transplant patients regionally (and for other reasons) is a WHOLE separate subject.

Anyway, my prayers and best wishes go out to Gregg and to all the people who suffer from this terrible disease - freedom from pain and other debilitating symptoms, and for a CURE FOR ALL patients.
