Topic: Rediscovering....

As some of you know (many of you don't), I had a falling out a couple of years ago on at the Los Lonely Boys forum. Because of that I guess I held something against the band because of some of their idiot fans (immature, I know). But over the past week or so, I've finally fallen back in love with this band. They're just so dang catchy, and they can really play. I was such a huge fan back when Heaven hit, I'm back there again. By the way, in July they're supposed to be releasing another cd. This time it's produced by Steve Jordan, and it's supposed to be titled Forgiven.

Re: Rediscovering....

I like them too.I think there is alot of talent there. They can play some varied styles of music very well.I guess you shouldnt take it out on the band because they have some forum jerks. But I can understand your emotions on that.what did you think of their second album.I listened to it once, but didnt like it as much as their first.

Re: Rediscovering....

I thought some of the songs were very good. My Way, Orale, Roses, andd My Loneliness are as good as anything on the first album. Some weren't. I thought it could've been shortened. I would've shortened that cd to these songs:

My Way
Orale
Diamonds
Oye Mamacita
I Never Met A Woman
Roses
Texican Style
My Loneliness
Outlaws
Living My Life

That means I would've cut One More Day, Memories, and Home. Just really didn't care for those.

I think their biggest problem is they have a big record company behind them. To me, they made a huge mistake when they released More Than Love and Velvet Sky as the singles after Heaven. They should've hit with a rocker on Senorita, Crazy Dream, or Real Emotions. And then on the second album they came out with Diamonds, which was basically another Heaven, before they finally came out with My Way, but it was too late. I really hope they come back and do well with this new album.

I think the situation over there at that forum with me just left a bitter taste in my mouth regarding the band in general. Every time I'd try to listen to them it'd just remind me of some of those fans. And it was partly my fault. I shouldn't have engaged them the way I did. I mean, I went from having backstage passes to any show I wanted to go to, to being banned. But I learned my lesson. I'm not as argumentative as I used to be. I do like my debate and discussion though. But anytime an argument breaks out here, I don't engage it.

Re: Rediscovering....

As much as I like them, I would not pay 198 bucks to see them. I wouldn't pay that much to see any band outside of a reformed Led Zeppelin or Eric Clapton, or Stevie Ray Vaughan coming up from outta the grave.

$198.00?  That's just crazy.  I've never seen them, but I will be seeing them at the Tampa Bay Blues Festival on April 12. They will be sharing the stage that day with Walter Trout and Tab Benoit.  I paid $30.00 for a one day pass.  If $198. is what their tickets are going for, I guess I really got a bargain. big_smile

Yes, they're playing a casino show. I figured I might see if tickets were on sale yet, as they always sell out quick around here, and I couldn't believe it. Other places they're going for around $80, so I suppose it's supply and demand. Crosby Stills & Nash tickets at the same venue are going from $177 - $311 each. And, from checking their tour itinerary, that's pretty much the norm for their tour. All I can say is with those prices, David Crosby must be back smoking crack . wink I MIGHT pay $198 for a Zep reunion ticket, but ticket prices have gotten way out of hand. Ah, for the days when I was able to see Jeff Beck and Stevie Ray Vaughan for $17.50....(and we thought THAT was high, but hey, it was Beck and SRV) However, BDS with Ryan McGarvey are only $10...so go figure...

Re: Rediscovering....

I saw them open for John Mellencamp.  Ticket price was nowhere near $198.00.  Someone somewhere along the line is making a bunch of $$.  The casino must be taking a big chunk, imagine that?  plj

Re: Rediscovering....

They played the Pittsburgh Arts Festival last year for free (as did Joe). They put on a good show, but not $198.00 worth.

Tell me about the car i saw parked outside your door ? Tell me what you left me waiting two or three hours for ? Tell me why when the phone rings, baby, your up and across the floor ? Please dont keep me wondering no more.....
