Thanks Mike....loved it . I think it was the Gibson Les Paul Elf protoype as used by Master Baggins on his tour of the Shires. Gotta love that pixie look. . I'll do a bit of homework on that guitar and let you know what I find out over the weekend.
Also, just checked your website and noticed the Phil Hilborne interview. I'm doing a couple of gigs with his son Dean this weekend....great drummer.

I suspect a hippie continental thing back in the day.... When in Norway, the troll look, in Germany the garden gnome look etc etc... hehehe
In my best Simon Cowell English accent. Oh so garage bandish. I now know why I have never had heard of Skid Row.

Indeed Jim, it was a very different time in 1970-1971. when I presented a copy of the first Skid Row LP to GM for signature back in '83 he laughed and said "money well spent eh? This stuff would get laughed out of the suits office these days"
However anyone who has heard those three albums generally agrees that GM's undeniable talent shines through, even at 16, much like another precocious lad we all know and love.......
Skid row were good supporting Curved air at Leeds town hall in the 70s.
From what i can remember.
It was probably a '52 Les Paul, refinished, with a non-original tailpiece. It looks like there's some routing around the bridge pickup as if a humbucker had been there originally but the chances are it had P90's to start with.....too blurry to be certain. Can I take off my anorak now?
