Topic: Off Topic...

Had a generous helping of classic soul over the weekend, courtesy of the Reverend Al Green. Great show and great 12 piece band (including backing vocals). If you like vintage R&B music and see that Al's coming through town, it's worth the ticket price.

Re: Off Topic...

Hi Stu. I love vintage R&B, always good for my soul.  First time I saw it worded "vintage", seems necessary with some of the music falling under R&B these days.  My wild side was getting a dose of LedZeppelin, damn they were good!  Making it an annual family affair to see this Led tribute band.

Love Al Green.  Last time he came through, his tickets were in the 75 buck range...couldn't do it.  I really like his last two albums, especially I Can't Stop.  Great stuff.

Re: Off Topic...

That was a a great show in Danbury when Joe opened for Al Green. A lot of the Al Green fans didn't quite know what to think about Joe !!!!!  Many liked him, some it was a little too heavy for them. Al was great !!!

Stu, looks like this was a good music weekend for a few of us on here...started off early with a free show on Thursday with John Hiatt and the North Mississippi All Stars. Amazing show. Then Saturday night, Shemekia Copeland at a very small club in Great Barrington called Club Helsinki. She is one of the best out there right now, if any of you aren't familiar with her yet...go see her !!!!! Plus she is one fantastic person on top of it all. Very fan friendly.    LG
