Thanks Dino. I guess you had to have been there. After seeing that I know I don't want to. Still don't get it.

Re: The Black Keys at My home Club

I like the Black Keys - their studio stuff is good.  Just thought they'd be more entertaining.

You know, I've never had an interest in the drums nor have taken any lessons, but I'm pretty sure I'd be able to fill in for the drummer on that song. Also, what style of music is that?

Now that's funny.

I played guitar for a couple of years but gave up after mastering Dirty Water, Gloria, Louie Louie. I still own a couple of guitars that I'm pretty sure if I worked reasonably hard for a couple of weeks I could stand in for the guitar player.

Re: The Black Keys at My home Club

i'm a huuuge Keys fan.  I love their albums and they are FANTASTIC live.  Can't wait to see them in a few weeks in DC.  They are both very talented...the first clip doesn't do them justice...

No matter how well you know someone, you can only ever guess.  How can you ever really know somebody else? It takes more than a lifetime just to get to know yourself.  Nobody knows the meaning of loneliness.  - Van Morrison

Not sure if the second third and fourth did either.

Re: The Black Keys at My home Club

I really wanted to like the Black Keys. The first time I had heard of them was from one of my sons friends on the way to taking them to a Joe show. She said they were blues based. I thought great there is a band bringing the blues to a younger generation. The have been hyped and have done very well in the younger market.

Great I'm glad anybody can make a living in the music business. More power to them. I just don't get it. I prefer to see musicians talented enough to play any style of music but chooses the blues not somebody that chooses the blues because of their musical limitations. I'm sorry I just don't understand what the fuss is about.

Black Keys Open To Working With Rod Stewart

Rod Stewart, take heed: when you told Rolling Stone during a recent Grammy party that you wanted to record a blues album backed by the Black Keys, the Black Keys were listening.

Drummer Patrick Carney tells Billboard.com he read the news online the day it was posted, and was flattered by Stewart's rhetorical question: "Do you think that they know who I am?"

But if Stewart wants to work with the Black Keys, he may have to join them on their home turf in northeast Ohio. Guitarist/vocalist Dan Auerbach says they'd be happy to record with the Rodfather, "As soon as he comes to Akron. Maybe somebody will make the first move."

The Keys are no strangers playing with rockers more than double their age. They covered the Kinks' "Act Nice and Gentle" with the help of that group's frontman, Ray Davies, at the 2005 Tibet House concert in New York, and last year collaborated on material with late rock pioneer Ike Turner.

Auerbach says those tracks, which found the Keys and Turner collaborating in different studios, will likely be released at some point.

If Rod's that impressed by The Keys, somebody needs to slip him a Bonamassa album methinks. wink

Re: The Black Keys at My home Club

yeah that's my feeling on the black keys.  they are good, but i have no idea why they are so popular and well known whilst other great(and in my personal opinion though i like the black keys, flat out better) bands and artists are completely unknown to the public.

Re: The Black Keys at My home Club

I'm a fan of the Black Keys. Far better in my opinion that the White Stripes too. If they seem too rocky for you listen to their cover EP to Junior Kimbrough Chulahoma. That really is excellent.

If you want to hear some of their new album, Attack and Release which comes out end or March (Europe) /1st April (USA), two of their songs can be found at:

Being at work I cannot hear them, or email them home, grr!
