Topic: July 15, Omaha

Great show.  Joe was his usual self and the band played really tight.  Is it unusual for him to toss his jacket into the crowd?  Some guys were calling out for it before he ended his main set and after the encore he tossed it their direction--though I don't think it got far enough.

He was really nice. I got a picture with him and I took "You and Me" for him to sign but I forgot a pen.  This guy deserves a lot more attention; he is a true guitar master.  Unbelievable.

He used that cool Tele for "Takin' the hit" and his gold flame maple Les Paul for "Better Days" as expected.  I had never seen the guitar he used for slide on "Burnin' Hell" and though I got real close to the stage, I couldn't read the brand.  Beautiful guitar.  Anyone know what it is?

Yes, it IS unusual for Joe to throw his jacket into the crowd....I've seen him about 15 times and that has NEVER happened.  The guitar used for The River (at least lately) and Burnin' Hell is a Chandler Lectraslide.  Chandler's website is http://www.chandlerguitars.com/guitars.html.  The "cool Tele" you refer to is a Gigliotti.  Their website is http://www.gigliottiguitars.com/.  Glad you enjoyed the show!

Keep on rockin' the blues...

Re: July 15, Omaha

I have to say, I think this was one of the better Joe shows I've seen.  I love all the new crowd interaction; it was a lot of fun.  Joe was smokin', as always.  He always manages to amaze me.  This time around, it was with his stunning reworking of "Woke Up Dreaming."  Even though he had been sick earlier in the week (and maybe still is, for all I know), and despite the oppressive heat, Joe nonetheless held nothing back.  He seemed a bit out of it after the show, and I can't say I blame him.  He left it all on the stage.  And the crowd (per Joe, around 4,000) really seemed to appreciate it.

Got some decent pics.  I'll post some when I get a chance.

Thanks again, Joe!  'Til next time . . .

I think it was a Chandler. I really loved the Gigliotti though. I've never seen anything like it. I don't get out much though. I thought the show in Omaha was absolutely fabulous!!
