Topic: Dumble Amps- Alexander (Howard) Dumble interview

With all the talk about Dumble amps here, I thought this interview might interest some. This is the only interview I could find (from Guitar Player mag 1985), but it's a great one. He goes into detail about how he got started, the differences between his models, and his amp building philosophy. Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing--very informative, kind of opens your imagination in terms of tone. The only problem is that I have to go back to my amps (a DeVille and Tiny Terror which in reality I really like) and fight the urge to look at them and say, "why can't you do that?"

Blessings,
Larry

OK, here's a youtube video of the beautiful dumble amp tone. Featuring Alexander Dumble himself playing "Just Got Paid" on rhythm guitar (what a coincidence!)....The best part are the youtube comments!!! lol

It would have been way cooler if that dude wasn't making his guitar sound like someone was trying to fax a dying cat.

That was painful!

Was that supposed to sound good?  Or like it went with the music at all?

Oh man, was that seriously Henry Kaiser's intention to sound like that?  That was quite tough on the ears, but Ken, you're right--those comments are HILARIOUS!!! big_smile
