Topic: Promise to a 5 yr old Joe fan

Hey Joe,
I promised my 5 yr old friend Cody, your fan, that I would write you for him.  He's a finicky eater and I said, "Ya' know I bet Joe likes chicken strips."  He said, "Are you talking about Joe Bonamassa?"  (And he has no trouble pronouncing your name correctly.)  I said, "I am talking about "Dirt In My Pocket" Joe Bonamassa.  He munched that chicken strip right down and said, "Would you tell Joe I ate all of my chicken strip?"  And so a young fans request and a promise kept.

Patty, I find much humor in this since I can't even count how many times I try to get Nico to try foods by telling him that Joe likes them.  Especially fruit, which is very unpopular with Nico!  As a result, at every show I take him to he always insists on our bring fruit to the band; sometimes I can distract him out of it, sometimes I can't.  On the way to the Elgin show last May was one very good example of my not being able to.  I don't remember if I told you about it at the time but if not I'll have to 'cause it's pretty funny!

That's cool that it worked for Cody.  May one chicken strip lead to more!

Sounds cute but what's a 'chicken strip'?

never give up, never slow down
never grow old, never ever die young

Re: Promise to a 5 yr old Joe fan

Patty, that is the cutest thing I have read in a while!  Thanks for posting it.

gsj - usually a breaded strip of boneless chicken

Oh, you mean a goujon smile. Fresh chicken I assume?

Here is what goujon means over here..............ha ha ha.......not quite the same thing!
Noun 1. goujon - large catfish of central United States having a flattened head and projecting jaw

Re: Promise to a 5 yr old Joe fan

ha ha, that sounds like the description of a politician......you know the one. True enough though, i've been suspicious of the word 'goujon' for some time.....I thought it was made up by a supermarket chain smile
