Topic: Who has gotten Rod Stewarts First Album since the release of Sloe Gin?
I know I have.
Heard there was more of the sweet acoustic into electric mix and have enjoyed it since.
Anyone else?

I looked on iTunes and listened to the clips but didn't buy it... No particular reason...
I've had 'An Old Raincoat...' and 'Gasoline Alley' since Rod was a 'Face'. Both great albums and they're still as listenable today as they were way back when. Look out for an old album by Ronnie Wood & Ronnie Lane. The title has escaped me in the fog of time but the memory lingers on....worth a listen.
Kyle:
I have really enjoyed Rod with Jeff Beck's "Truth". I have the original and the remastered version with some added tracks. Have had the original for years, and the remastered one for a couple of years.
Classic!

What is the name of Rod's first album? I have been curious about it since reading the liner notes for Sloe Gin. I'm looking for some new tunes and would love to add it to my collection.

Yeah I've got that and "Beck-ola" on vinyl. Some of my favorites that I've got.

It is called "The Rod Stewart Album." Its got like Street Fighting Man, Man of Constant Sorrow, Handbags and Gladrags on it. Cover is like orangish brown with "the Rod Stewart Album" in script. Go after it, seriously. Great album.
Nope, that's a compilation. Get "An Old Raincoat Will Never Let You Down' and then get 'Gasoline Alley'.

The Rod Stewart Album was the American release of an old Raincoat that was the UK release. I think it is the same album.
There was a 'The Rod Stewart' album over here that was much later I think, around the time that Rod got involved with all that chiffon and Brit Ekland stuff. Either way....get Gasoline Alley as well. Both great albums.

Yeah, thats what I heard. Something about the title of "Old Raincoat" was too British for American audiences.
Funny you should post this ... last weekend I was in my local supermarket and on impulse picked up The Best of Rod Stewart compilation CD for just under £3. I'm not a big fan but it has all my favourites on it, the old stuff - Mandolin Wind, Maggie May, Handbags and Gladrags, Gasoline Alley Bred etc etc and just reminded me of sitting in a boyfriend's kitchen all those years ago playing his one Rod Stewart album on his old record player.
