Topic: Dan Fogelberg Passes Away

Just heard this news on the 10'o'clock news. I'm proud to say I have some of his work in my vinyl stacks from the 70's. Very talented singer/songwriter.

What is success? Is it do yo' own thang, or is it to join the rest?   -Allen Toussaint

Re: Dan Fogelberg Passes Away

I, too, am really saddened by this news.  I got some of his music on vinyl, too.  I listened to him quite a bit as a teen. I use to work with a man that was good friends with his family and they use to babysit Dan when he was little.  .....Part of The Plan ? Souvenirs 1974?

Sad news, and only 56. Here's the thing..It was advanced prostate cancer...Fellas..get your annual check-ups..You don't have to die from prostate or colon cancer...very treatable..early detection is key. Remember, the things they have to do to you after the disease has progressed are MUCH worse than the tests for the disease. Live long and prosper....Nurse Cathy

Yeah Dawg those 70's albums, Home Free, Souvenirs (especially Souvenirs), and Captured Angel-to me all his best although it's all good.  He's well known for songwriting, arranging, poetic lyrics & great singing, but the dude could play guitar too! Sorry to hear the sad news, a genuine class act...Fellows like Crosby Loggins coming along now...

Changing faces in the middle of a dream
Gets you old. (Changing Horses, from Souvenirs)

Dan was in my collection as well, seems way too young...very soothing voice delivering a message.

Re: Dan Fogelberg Passes Away

Hard days i'm travelling
Alone for too long
Ooh, i'm missing you
I'm always somewhere
Where i never belong
Ooh, i'm missing you
I'm moving so fast now
It doesn't seem true
Ooh, i'm missing you
I'm getting closer
But i don't know what to
Ooh, i'm missing you.

Amen, Roy...AMEN

I is calling the GI guy now...for me.  wink

Re: Dan Fogelberg Passes Away

alot of people do not realize how good of an electric guitar player he was. I have heard some stuff where he reminded of Clapton. RIP Dan F.

Re: Dan Fogelberg Passes Away

I know him by name, not by music. Sad all the same sad
