Topic: Sex Pistols

Something Different , Ever Since i was a kid growing up in London in The 70's , I was always Drawn to the sound of Raw Guitar Music , Loved Led Zeppelin and Then at the 76/77 Time , The Sex Pistols Burst onto the Scene ( Must be something about that Raw Crisp Gibson Sound ) Love That Steve Jones Agressive Gibson Tone . They Took London by Storm with their wild Show , and in the 3 short years of theirs they Released 1 So Polished Perfect Produced Album " Never Mind The Boll**ks"  That Sounded So Different than anything else ever released before. What a Production For 1977

And Today Sat 10th November , I'M Travelling up to London's Brixton Acadamy to See Their Comeback Tour .. Only 4 Dates .. They're all in Their 50's Now , But According to All Reports they have a polished live performance now ( well it is 30 years down the line )

It's Gonna Be Different , Variety eh !

Re: Sex Pistols

Hiya Michael my friend. How the hell are you. I might have guessed you would be there for that gig. Sure, the pistols got a lot of stick for their behaviour, but their sound was good. Some good tracks too. Never saw them live, but Never Mind.... - was a good album. McLaren must have made a packet out of them!

Hopefully see you oop north in Feb?

If you want to listen to the   real creators, the birthplaces of punk rock it starts in Michigan in 1968, with the MC5, and more specifically the Stooges.

The Stooges created the Ramones...and the Ramones created punk rock.

McLaren created The Pistols...they are like the first alternative boy band.  Made to sell clothes.

Aside from Bowie, nothing I dislike more than the Pistols

Re: Sex Pistols

Well, as I always say, r'n'r has ALWAYS needed the wild side of life in order to survive and prosper!! I just wonder what peeps back in good 'ol 58 thought about The Pelvis or LIttle Richard when they burst on the scene! There WILL always be a new sensation to feed r'n'r....it's only history repeating...and the Pistols were NO exception. Like it or not! smile

The Rolling Stones are the original punk rock band.

I liked The Clash for my anger management. I agree to give respect to it all. I can only go so far into "ugly" music and then it gets annoying. imho     Cathy
