Topic: Current Rig

Hey Guys, So I've kind of come to a major point in my sound, I think I've got my settings and gear definitely going in the direction I want.  I've got my JCM900 Half Stack, which is beastly, I love it.  I've got a TS-9 reissue which is nice for a little extra gain when you need it(you rarely do).  A Boss DD-3 which smooths out your disorted tones really nicely and gives you that "far away" sound.(Good for a slow blues).  And here is the piece of gear that has really done it for me.  The Keeley Compressor.  Man is this thing incredible, AMAZING.  I knew right away that this is what helped get Joe his tone in the early days, as soon as i dialed in my settings in i was strolling through Bonamassaville, or something similar!  No Lie, I will have to get some sound clips up, because my rig is sounding great!  Its very reminiscent of his early tone, like off of ANDY live, Great Marshall Tone.
The thing that the compressor really does well is to take out that AC/DCesque Grittiness of the marshall(if you set it right).  I like that kind of marshall tone, but i like this much better.  It really smooths over the gain and gives you...well you know what I mean!  listen to the ANDY live, the marshall is smooth at buttah!  but still ferocious.  PEACE

Re: Current Rig

Theres a couple choices
Host the files for download from a site like www.yousendit.com  (just send the email to yourself and paste the link in here)
You could set up a "band" myspace for yourself and put up your recordings.  A Soundclick site (www.soundclick.com) would work as well, same idea as a band myspace.

Re: Current Rig

Hey, cool clips.  Those sound quite good.
My initial reaction to them is that the delay is way to long and loud.  I really felt like (especially the strat one) that it all got kind of mushed up in the delay.  Playing and tone otherwise sounded awesome.

You running the delay in the loop or in front of the amp?

Re: Current Rig

I just listened to your sound clips, and you have great tone! Is your DD-3 just a stock pedal? I'm thinking of getting one but I don't know whether I should get a stock pedal or get a keeley Modded dd-3.
