Its those photos of vintage gear I long for. tongue

I like seeing the vintage gear, of course, and the show photos (even though it makes me sad to think about how long it will be before I get to attend such a show myself), but my favorites are the Tweets about the stuff he buys on those "day off" safaris...  wink

When you watch "Muddy Wolf" at Red Rocks in the comfort of your own home, just you and the wife and give a standing ovation after every song.  One of the absolute best days of my life, was the day I discovered Joe.

The only thing we deserve, is an opportunity.  Everything else has to be earned.

I'm just glad I was by myself the day I found the "Muddy Wolf" CD/DVD set in my mailbox, because I hopped in the air when I saw it. Not very high (I'm 62, for God's sake), but still...  wink

Re: You just might be a "Joe-addict"......

Two somewhat silly incidents this week:

Went to the doctor and I was of course wearing a Joe t shirt, the one with the guitars all in a line on the front with Joe's name somewhat small underneath them. At one point the doctor was behind me with his stethoscope moving to different parts of my back having me breath to listen to my lungs, and he says with his somewhat thick accent, "What is this bone a massa?"  I was like, "what?!" thinking he had said something like "bone mass" and hypochondriac that I am I was immediately thinking I had some weird bone thing that I had never heard about. So he repeated, "What is bone-a-massa?" and then it dawned on me, duh. Bonamassa! So with an immediate feeling of relief that I didn't have some strange bone disorder I told him, "Oh, Bonamassa, he's this guy who plays guitar that I like"  He still didn't quite understand why I was wearing a shirt with guitars on it when I don't play guitar, but sometimes things are a little difficult to explain.

Then last night I really felt like a Joe addict because we were at a Passover seder and everyone was doing their part of reading from the Passover story and someone mentions something about the "bottom matzo" and I swear it sounded like they said Bonamassa. When we heard it, Phil and I both immediately looked at each other and started giggling. It's no wonder we end up being seated down in the kid's section, lol. Now when I think of matzo I think of Joe smile

Re: You just might be a "Joe-addict"......

I took such great delight in seeing this today at work in the bank. A young man came in and when he turned around to leave, the back of his shirt said "Joe Bonamassa". I couldn't help but call him out on it. Turns out he plays guitar and then he said to me, "You must be the person I've heard about that knows  Joe!"  Proud moment of being a Joe fan cool

I post to a controversial international board with a lot of heated political discussion from every viewpoint. One evening one of the posters started a thread for anyone to post something not politically related. I posted my long review of BOD. Wow, the Joe fans came boiling out of the woodwork with rave reviews of my post and love of Joe's music. Many were not aware of the new release and were heading out to get it. I had no idea.

Re: You just might be a "Joe-addict"......

Actually happened to me with a dear friend of mine who is the lead singer/guitarist of a popular heavy metal band.  My wife accused me of being "into men" because I spent so much time either with or speaking to my buddy.  I thought it was hilarious that my wife was actually accusing me of having an "affair" with another "man".  By the way, we already had two children and had been together for well over twenty years going back to high school when we first met.

When your kindergartner and 4th grader substitute everyday events into Joe lyrics from Mountain Climbing.....

When eating yogurt "..wooooah.......fruit at the bot-tom!"
When asked to wash their hands after dinner and I get this from the bathroom "....scrub all day, ya nevuh get them clean!"

"You can't put a price on cool."

Re: You just might be a "Joe-addict"......

that is tooooo cute, my kids at that age were singing along with Rush because they thought Geddy was a young girl, go figure. I have tried it a lot with other artist's songs, but only Lie #1 of Joe's and those substituted lyrics cannot be printed here without offending Joe and many others...........haha

When you know nothing about the guitars and don't play one but watch countless youtube videos of Joe talking about guitars and it all sounds chinese to you but you enjoy it anyway..

You must be a "Joe-addict"when you prefer watching  bonamassa videos, reading people comments about him, looking at the pictures on his fb/inst/twitter to anything else. When you are amazed at yourself when you haven't thought about him for an hour! When your friends have to make an effort to not roll their eyes when they have to hear his name for a million times...   When your ex boyfriend is trying to win you back by offering you a bonamassa tickets   smile
