Advertising Space

I worry too much about stuff, but realized that people use this space, Joe's forum, most likely, innocently, and inadvertently to make references & comments about  other artists, other businesses', gear with branded names, etc. myself included, when I mentioned a local guitar dealers name.  Not intended as an advertisment, of course. 

That said:

Would it help defray some of the cost of maintaining all of this ever growing site by setting up a paid for advertising space on a separate, bulletin board type page, whereby, people with music related business and/or artists with CD, etc., could spread out ?

A real estate office I was affiliated with a while back was doing this and charging a small monthly fee, no contracts, quit at any time kind of thing. 

Just an idea.
