Topic: It was 20 years ago today,

I went to see Joe Bonamassa play, in the last millennium, on a whim.  If not for a newspaper, you know, the foldable paper tablet of yesterday, I might not be writing this post.  Joe Bonamassa performed in Syracuse that cold night.  The setlist was the entire “A New Day Yesterday” album.  I had NO knowledge of the program material, no clue who Joe was at the time (not truly true, but true in the moment).  The paper had mentioned that the album  included guest appearances from Rick Derringer,  Gregg Allman, and Leslie West.  But what MOST caught my eye was the album was produced by none other than Tom Dowd.  I was driving in the cold and snow a couple of hours to check this out...

Re: It was 20 years ago today,

I spotted the nod to the Beatles in your topic header.
I’m only on around 11 years of following/seeing Joe but I did get to see him once at a small venue before he hit the big time.
Tell me, were you a Rocket back then too?

Re: It was 20 years ago today,

Re: It was 20 years ago today,

Ah, the good old days - but the new ones are good, too.  I have been bringing the next generation into our not-so-little anymore world of Joe via my grandson.  He attended his first real concert last summer (Joe of course) at the age of 5 - and loved every minute of it.  I was just in London last week and thought of you quite often - especially walking by Dingwall's.  Miss you!  Happy anniversary!
