Topic: Parker Millsap

Not sure how this thread will play out here in the forum, but I still have to bring good music here to let young musicians be heard.

Once in a very long while you'll hear something that can't truly be labeled or compared to anyone else and it's just plain genius.
Parker Millsap has put out three albums that have evolved forward with each release.  I like and bought all three, but it's the newest, Latest Arrangements, that's his best imo.
I'll start the videos from songs off his 2nd album which is more Americana/Blues....

Re: Parker Millsap

Good job I've some money left at the end of the month; another quality selection there. Saw the name Millsap and it flashed through my mind, any family connection to Ronnie Millsap? Probably not, bit of a stretch...

Anyway, Parker has a great, expressive voice and a real feeling for his music. Not too sure about your second choice there Curby, the duet; the voices blend extremely well but for my ear, she's a bit "fingernails down a blackboard".

There's a music club near me, Jumpin' Hot, and this is the sort of stuff they lap up... think  I'll be giving them a nudge.

Re: Parker Millsap

Sometimes I'll listen to stuff and wish I was 20 years old again like Parker is in the first video.  Mike was spot on on his vocal abilities that remind me of a number of singers like Elvis Presley, Robert Plant and a young Billy Joel.  Still haven't checked out the fiddle player in his band but the guy is flat out awesome on "Hades Pleades".
Happy Halloween!

Re: Parker Millsap

At about the 1:11 to 1:33 mark on "Hades Pleads" I'd swear I was listening to Robert Plant singing at a 4-H Fair.

Been checking out this kid and found he's wrote songs done by other artists (Samantha Fish) and it was searching the song "Forgive Me" (that I thought was the title of a song Davy Knowles sang that night in Evansville) I stumbled onto Parker Millsap.  It's off his first album and is a great little song.  I eventually bought all Parker's records that night.
I'm so sick (lol) of BansheeUK writing these professional reviews that I thought I'd write down the songs at Davy's show and do one myself.  Like in real life my job strengths don't include reports.  I'll always pale next to by buddy Mike...

Lot of praise there buddy and I thank you for it. I don't know about "professional" though, the standard of my English these days I can still see the board eraser coming at my head from my old English teacher... No, it all just comes from my gut - if I feel it's worth shouting about, then I'll shout best way I can; and you've given me plenty to shout about over the years.
